Our wonderful RUHS NICU Team recently participated in a "Kangaroo-a-thon" to promote the benefits of Kangaroo Care, also known as skin-to-skin care, for premature infants. During the event, NICU families logged the time they spent providing Kangaroo Care to their babies, and two families received gift baskets in recognition of the most time spent skin-to-skin. 🦘

Kangaroo Care supports bonding between parents and babies while also helping regulate an infant's temperature, heart rate, breathing, and oxygen levels. It has also been shown to improve weight gain, enhance breastfeeding success, support brain development, and reduce stress for both infants and parents.

This recognition reflects the incredible collaboration, innovation and support behind the scenes at RUHS and the County of Riverside - Government. We’re proud to use creative communication strategies to educate, engage and serve our community every day.

Sheterah Burnett-Wrenn, NP, joins the RUHS Mobile Health Clinic team!

Sheterah has been part of the RUHS family since 2018, previously serving as a Registered Nurse in several roles across the organization, including Charge Nurse and Infection Preventionist within the Infection Control Department. She has also cared for patients at Perris Community Health Center, Perris Valley Community Health Center and Lake Elsinore Community Health Center.

Outside of work, Sheterah enjoys spending time with family, serving at her church, trying new recipes and learning fun facts.

Now stepping into her new role as a Nurse Practitioner, Sheterah is excited to continue serving the community and building trusted relationships with patients that support better health and overall well-being.
