Earlier this month, we were able to distribute 400 backpacks filled with school supplies to children across the City of Moreno Valley.

A special thank you to Kaiser Permanente for their generous donation to help ensure children are ready to succeed this school year. We were joined by so many amazing community partners who offered resources and made this a truly wonderful event. We are grateful to all of our partners, including Community Health Systems, Inc., for coming together to support local families. 💙

The Riverside County Board of Supervisors recently voted to declare August 12 as Jane Block Day, a local holiday to be celebrated annually starting August 12, 2025 💙

Jane means so much to our community and to FSA. For 24 years, she served on our Board giving us her wisdom, vision, and compassion.

Her advocacy has shaped policy, inspired leaders, and improved lives for generations. We are deeply grateful to RARCC and the Riverside County Board of Supervisors for recognizing Jane’s extraordinary legacy and the lasting difference she’s made in Riverside County.

It’s hard to sum up what 20 years with Shannon Gonzalez means to Family Service Association… but we’ll try 💙

Shannon joined FSA two decades ago to support our accreditation process, and from day one, she brought a dedication and drive that stood out. Over the years, she has taken on new challenges, led with vision, and built trust every step of the way.

Today, as our Chief Operating Officer, Shannon oversees our programs, drives our development efforts, and has led us through multiple successful COA accreditations. She has helped shape the FSA we know today - one that serves thousands and continues to grow stronger each year.

We had some very special visitors today! Supervisor Jose Medina and Chief of Staff Emilio Ramirez stopped by to tour our Rubidoux Child Development Center, which cares for over 200 young children. Next, we visited our Mission Villas Apartment that offers affordable housing for older adults. We wrapped up the day by seeing our Senior Nutrition Program in action, serving seniors across Jurupa Valley!

We were joined by our CEO, Cheryl-Marie Hansberger and Board Members Ida Sanchez, Chris Mardis, and Jane Adams. Thank you for your support and leadership along the way!

Today is National Intern Day — and it’s all about them: our SHINE interns. ✨

This summer, students from Moreno Valley Unified School District took part in meaningful, hands-on work through the SHINE Program, whether supporting little learners in our Child Development Centers or helping things run smoothly in our administration office. We’re celebrating their growth, dedication, and the fresh perspective they brought to every task.
We’re proud to be part of their journey. 💙

At the Cabazon Community Center, stepping up for our community is what we do. 💙

When there was a pause in regular food deliveries, Center Manager Deana and a team of incredible volunteers made sure support never stopped. We’re grateful for our continued partnership with FIND Food Bank and proud to work together to serve our neighbors. 🤝
