I’m looking for a child/adolescent therapist to join my private practice in Morgan City!

I primarily provide individual counseling services to kids and teens and am looking to bring on another clinician who enjoys working with this population. Flexible schedule, autonomy, and a strong focus on work/life balance (because burnout is real 🥴). Great fit for someone who enjoys working independently but still wants a supportive environment.

Big news for Louisiana therapists!

🚨 Let the Good Times Roll! The Counseling Compact has officially gone live in Louisiana, marking another significant milestone in expanding access to mental health care! Louisiana is the fourth state to grant privileges, joining Arizona, Minnesota and Ohio.

Across the country, 34 additional states and the District of Columbia are actively completing the steps needed to begin issuing and receiving privileges under the Counseling Compact.

Kids aren’t just out here being “bad” for no reason. 👀

What you’re seeing—-tantrums, attitude, shutting down, refusing—that’s just the tip of the iceberg.

Underneath is usually something bigger:
anxiety, stress, shame, feeling overwhelmed, not knowing what to do with big emotions…

✨ Behavior is communication. ✨

And when we only focus on stopping the behavior, we miss what actually needs support.

Whether you’re parenting a toddler or a teen—
the goal isn’t just to “fix” the behavior…

It’s to understand it and then teach them what to do instead.

You can hold boundaries AND be understanding. Both matter.

📣 Calling all teen therapists! 📣

Growing Minds Therapy (Formerly Rodrigue Counseling Services, LLC) is helping to coordinate the quiet room space for a youth event in Bayou Vista this summer, and I’m looking for a few therapists who would be willing to volunteer their time.

This is not formal therapy—it’s low-pressure, supportive conversations where teens can step away, connect, and talk if they want (or just listen) and do quieter activities if that’s what they seek.

Beginning May 4, 2026, all sessions will take place at the new location.

I’ve been reflecting.

Our small community has experienced several deaths by su***de over the past few years, and it’s heavy.

It has me wondering…
How are you checking in with your family? With your friends? With your kids?

And not just “How are you?”—but really checking in.

Are we creating space for honest conversations?
Are we paying attention when something feels off?
Do the people in our lives know they can come to us without fear of judgment?

Mental health is a fragile and important part of being human.

Support matters—and it matters before things reach a crisis.

If someone you love isn’t okay, there is help out there.

You don’t have to figure it out alone.

Chief Chad M. Adams and the Morgan City Police Department would like to extend a sincere thank you to Victoria Bryan of Rodrigue Counseling, LLC for her generous donation of plush police K9 toys.

These stuffed K9s will be issued to children during calls for service, helping officers provide comfort in difficult or stressful situations. Acts of kindness like this make a meaningful impact in our community and strengthen the relationship between law enforcement and the families we serve.

The Kiwanis Club of East St. Mary is partnering with Miles' Park with a Purpose to bring an inclusive, accessible playground to Berwick — one that every child, regardless of ability, can enjoy together.

This project is named in honor of Miles Liner, a Berwick native and LSU student who was passionate about inclusive playground design before his life was tragically cut short in 2012. His dream deserves to become reality.

The current playground is 20+ years old, broken, and inaccessible to children with physical or developmental differences. We're changing that.
