I saw my first client at my private practice tonight. Many of you have reached out for appointments these last several months as I’ve navigated my way through the final touches. This is a part-time endeavor for me with limited hours. Please know that I am working my way through a waiting list, and if you have reached out in any way, I will surely get back with you. There is definitely a learning curve to operating your own business, so I ask that you be patient with me. Did you know that you do not have to live in the local area to participate in counseling with me? Using a telehealth platform, I can provide counseling services to anyone in the state of Louisiana. Consent forms and other documentation can all be sent to you through a convenient patient portal to electronically sign and return to me. All you need is a laptop, desktop, tablet, or smartphone, a good internet connection, and a quiet, confidential area to meet. In addition to individual and group therapy sessions with clients, one of the services I will offer is supervision of Provisionally Licensed Professional Counselors (PLPCs). We will cover topics including ethical considerations, diagnostic criteria, risk assessment, treatment planning, working with resistance, privacy/HIPAA, case conceptualization, self-care, and much more. I am able to conduct supervision utilizing my telehealth platform, so I can supervise PLPCs anywhere in the state of Louisiana. I am excited to assist new counselors as they join this profession.
