We are currently experiencing inclement weather across our region. UNC Health Blue Ridge has an inclement weather plan in place to help ensure the safest possible environment for our patients, visitors, and staff during and after severe weather.

Our teams are closely monitoring conditions and taking all necessary precautions, including staffing, supplies, and facility readiness.

🏥 UNC Health Blue Ridge Hospital and the Emergency Department remain open 24/7.
🚗 The upper parking deck on the Morganton campus is closed. All visitors should park on the lower level of the parking deck until the weather conditions improve.

If there are any changes to operating hours for our urgent care clinics, primary care, specialty care, or other practices, updates will be posted at www.uncbr.org/closings

Weather Advisory Parking Reminder for Morganton Campus:

Due to potential inclement weather over the weekend, upper deck parking at UNC Health Blue Ridge Morganton Campus will be closed starting tonight (12/23) at 9:00 p.m. and will reopen once the winter weather has passed.

Patients using the lower parking deck can access the hospital and medical office building through their lower-level entrances.

Join us in welcoming Paul Fletcher, DO, as the physician leader of the new Transitional Care Clinic (TCC) within Blue Ridge Medical Group.

Dr. Fletcher is board-certified in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics. He is a graduate of the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine, Lewisburg, and completed his residency at Penn State’s Milton S. Hershey Medical Center. With experience in bridging clinics, Dr. Fletcher’s clinical interests include using innovative care delivery models that provide short term, intensive support and coordinated follow up during the critical first 30-60 days post discharge. By leveraging the Transitional Care Clinic with enriched patient centered resources, he aims to close care gaps between inpatient and outpatient settings ensuring patients receive seamless, high-quality care. Dr. Flecther is committed to reducing readmissions and improving continuity of care.

When not caring for patients, Dr. Fletcher enjoys traveling, golfing, cooking, and spending time with his family. He and his wife, Erin, have two daughters and have called Western North Carolina home since 2019.

Her nomination said: "April Boatner exhibited exceptional commitment to our patients and teammates during a particularly challenging shift in the Emergency Department. April demonstrated remarkable composure and positivity and remained supportive and calm which set a positive tone for the entire department. She checked in with staff, offered guidance and assistance where needed, and maintained an encouraging atmosphere that helped everyone stay aligned and motivated. April’s ability to lead under pressure exemplifies what it means to be a strong, dependable team leader in the emergency department. She made what could have been a difficult shift, into a successful one, making a meaningful impact on both patient experience and team morale."
