Friendly reminders as we head into warmer months!

Always carry the if you’re hiking - even for a day trip. Properly plan your outdoor excursion and know your route. It is extremely important that every person in your group be prepared with the 10 essentials, and twice as much water as you think you'll need.

Lack of water, light sources, and navigation skills are 3 of our most common reasons for SAR calls.

If out on the water, North Carolina state law mandates life vests for those under 13 on recreational vessels, as well as for anyone on a personal watercraft or being towed (yes, that includes kayaks and tubes!).
