The Foundation team would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who attended the annual Lights of Love Ceremony on December 5.
This meaningful event serves as a time to remember and honor those who have fought and are currently fighting the battle against cancer.
During the ceremony, we heard from several speakers who shared the event's impact and enjoyed performances from the East Burke Choir Group, and harpist Dr. Gerri Goertzen.
We also showcased the new Valdese Hospital History Wall.
We are extremely grateful to our sponsors and donors who support this fundraiser, which benefits the UNC Health Blue Ridge Cancer Center and its patients.

Join the Blue Ridge HealthCare Foundation, teammates, and our community at this year’s Lights of Love tree lighting ceremony TODAY, December 5th at 5:30pm, in the lower-level atrium on the Valdese Campus.
This meaningful ceremony includes special remarks regarding the importance this fundraiser has on elevating care at our cancer center and helping patients in need.
The event includes a special tree lighting. The lights on the tree are symbolic of all lights purchased by donors in honor and in memory of friends, family members, and loved ones.
We look forward to seeing you as we light up the holidays and support our cancer center & its patients!

As we prepare for our Lights of Love Ceremony tomorrow to support the Cancer Center, I invite you to take a moment to learn about the story of Rachel's Bags and their legacy since her passing.

Rachel's Bags were created to offer comfort and support to cancer patients during their journey and treatment.

Since 2022, these bags have been distributed to many patients in need at the UNC Health Blue Ridge Cancer Center.

Some of the funds from our Lights of Love Fundraiser were used to assist with the purchasing of the items for the bags.

We’re proud to unveil the new Valdese General Hospital History Wall at UNC Health Blue Ridge Valdese campus! This is a stunning tribute to our journey, our people, and our impact on the community, focusing on the three founders Dr. Yates S. Palmer, Dr. Cy K. Lynn and Dr. Frank O. Foard. This beautiful installation captures decades of commitment to care, innovation, and service, showcasing milestones that shaped who we are today.

Tomorrow night is a great opportunity to view the new History Wall during our Lights of Love tree lighting ceremony starting at 5:30 p.m., in the lower-level atrium at the Valdese campus. If you can’t make the ceremony, we encourage you to stop by at any time and take a moment to explore the stories and photos that honor the legacy of those who built the foundation of excellence we stand on.
