âBringing medical oncology and infusion services to the WVU Cancer Institute at Fairmont Medical Center means our patients can receive the care they need in the comfort of their own community,â said Ashkan Emadi, M.D., Ph.D., chair of the Department of Medical Oncology at the WVU Cancer Institute. âCancer treatment is challenging enough without the added burden of long travel. Our goal is to deliver the same advanced therapies, personalized attention, and compassionate support you would find at our main campusâright here, close to home."
đ Big news for Marion County!
The WVU Cancer Institute has expanded cancer treatment services at WVU Medicine Fairmont Medical Center. đ Patients will have access to a new medical oncology clinic on the hospitalâs third floor, with chemotherapy and infusion services coming later this fall.
"This expansion at Fairmont Medical Center strengthens our promise to serve patients where they live and work,â Hannah Hazard Jenkins, MD, director and executive chair of the WVU Cancer Institute, said. âCancer care is not just about treatment - itâs about community, connection, and compassion."
