You don’t have to fight your mental health battle alone!

It's okay to reach out for help and lean on others for support. Whether it's friends, family, or professionals, there are people who care and want to help you through tough times. Remember, vulnerability is a strength, and sharing your feelings can be incredibly healing. Let’s break the stigma and encourage open conversations about mental health. Together, we can foster understanding, compassion, and resilience.

Valley HealthCare System Revives Beloved Annual Thanksgiving Lunch Tradition

Morgantown, WV – Valley HealthCare System is delighted to announce the return of its cherished annual Consumer/Employee Thanksgiving Lunch, a tradition that has been a cornerstone of community spirit and gratitude since the 1980s. After a pause in recent years due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this heartwarming event resumed this year, bringing joy, connection, and a sense of normalcy back to our consumers and employees.

This tradition traces its origins to the 1980s when Joe Musick, a retired construction worker with a heart of gold, purchased the first turkey for Valley’s Morgantown office. His simple but profound act of kindness—sharing a meal with clients—sparked a tradition that has grown in size and significance over the decades. This year’s event was made even more special by the presence of Joe's son, Bob Musick, who worked for Valley HealthCare System for many years and shared in the festivities.

The day was filled with warmth and camaraderie as attendees enjoyed a delicious Thanksgiving meal prepared with care and dedication by Valley HealthCare employees. The sounds of organ music filled the air, provided by a local group who generously donated their time and talents to entertain the crowd. The music created a festive atmosphere, and the joy was palpable as attendees celebrated the return of this beloved event.

“This tradition has always been about giving back to our clients and creating a sense of togetherness,” said Mr. Bob Musick. “It’s inspiring to see how much this event has grown since its humble beginnings. We are proud to honor this legacy and grateful to everyone who helped make this year’s event a success.”

Valley extends heartfelt thanks to its dedicated employees, whose hard work and planning brought this event to life. From preparing the meal to ensuring the event ran smoothly, their commitment made it possible to give back to our clients in such a meaningful way.

As we reflect on this year’s gathering, we are reminded of the importance of community, gratitude, and connection. Valley HealthCare System looks forward to continuing this tradition for years to come, celebrating the spirit of Thanksgiving and the bonds that unite us all.

November is National Adoption Month!

This month, we recognize and celebrate the importance of stable, loving families for children and youth who have faced challenging or traumatic experiences. Every child deserves a strong support system and meaningful social connections to help them heal, grow, and navigate life’s challenges. These protective factors play a crucial role in supporting young people as they transition to adulthood.

Let’s work together to build brighter futures and spread awareness about the transformative power of adoption!
