Honored to have been an alumni of Dr Delforge’s program at U of A.

Our ATSU AT family mourns the passing of Dr. Gary Delforge. Dr. Delforge is seen by many as the father of post-professional athletic training education, starting the graduate program at the University of Arizona and serving as the founding director of the Sports Health Care program (now Athletic Training) at ATSU. Dr. Delforge was inducted into the inaugural class of the AzATA Hall of Fame and is a member of the RMATA and NATA Halls of Fame. After his retirement, Dr. Delforge remained close to our program, even attending our inaugural DAT Winter Institute. He was a mentor and friend to so many athletic trainers in Arizona and around the country and will be greatly missed.
