"Thank you, Terry, for investing in me as one of your clinicians, and expanding my professional knowledge. Your support enabled me to be able to deliver one of the most highly regarded evidence-based therapies to our clients. EMDR, or Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing is a psychotherapy approach designed to stimulate bilateral brain activity in order to process traumatic memories. It helps alleviate PTSD symptoms and promotes healing from distressing life experiences. I feel incredibly fortunate to be one of the few therapists at PSIMED to have had the opportunity to participate in and earn this certification. I earned my certification on November 21, 2024. The process was both lengthy and highly rewarding, involving 20 hours of lectures, 20 hours of practicum, and 10 hours of consultation. The lectures were engaging, and EMDRIA, the training consultants, made the content accessible and easy to apply. The practicum was equally valuable, offering us the opportunity to practice the entire process in a structured, easy-to-follow format with one another. The consultation calls were incredibly beneficial, as they allowed me to choose from various consultants, each specializing in different approaches. Each call taught me something new and provided me with useful materials I can incorporate with my clients. Since completing the practicum, I have been using EMDR with many of my clients, and nearly all have experienced positive results. This certification has also enabled me to treat clients who specifically requested EMDR, eliminating the need for referrals.
