📚✨ New Book Alert! ✨🐉
A story full of heart, hope, and a little dragon named Coal 💛

We’re so excited to share a brand-new book written by Joanna DiPietro for the PACE Enterprises Art Program in Morgantown, WV!

This touching tale follows Coal the West Virginia Dragon, who faces anxiety and life’s obstacles. Inspired by the incredible individuals at PACE Enterprises - who work every day toward meaningful employment with the help of dedicated coaches and a caring community - this story shines a light on the power of inclusion, growth, and believing in yourself. 🌟

And the best part? You can read it for FREE online!

Project SEARCH at WVU Medicine J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital is currently recruiting interns for the 2025-2026 class!

What is Project SEARCH? Project SEARCH is an internship experience for high school seniors or recently graduated students with mild and moderate special healthcare needs. The program has locations throughout the country, but WVU Hospitals is the only site in West Virginia.

Once accepted into the program, student interns report to Ruby Memorial Hospital instead of their home school district classroom for the entire school year. The interns will rotate through several job roles at WVU Hospitals. Project SEARCH serves as the student interns’ capstone educational experience and often leads to employment once the internships are complete.

The WVU CED is one of many community partners for Project SEARCH West Virginia, along with the West Virginia Division of Rehabilitation Services, the Disability Action Center, PACE Enterprises, the West Virginia Department of Education and more.

For more information about Project SEARCH, including how to apply, contact Nick Lafferty, Project SEARCH instructor, at steven.lafferty@wvumedicine.org.
