As I pack for my annual Lake Michigan trip—paddleboard, bike, art supplies—I’m reminded: play isn’t extra. It’s essential.

Kayaking, painting, swaying to live music… these moments light up your brain, boost focus, and bring joy that lasts.

✨ Try these play tips:
• Make a playlist of fun things to do. Do one a day.
• Think like a kid. What did you love then?
• Try something new daily-ish.
• Play for the experience, not the result.
• Add color and silly touches to your space.
• Put down your phone.
• Move playfully. Skip. Spin. Dance. Use the “wrong” hand.

Bottom line: Play is brain fuel. Prioritize it like a meeting. You’ll feel the difference.
