Welcome to Rhythm and Reins Therapy Services

Thank you for your interest in our program. We look forward to meeting you and your family and introducing you to our world of horses and therapy. We currently offer occupational and physical therapy and will soon offer speech language therapy services. Our mission is to provide quality, client-centered services in a unique non-traditional environment.

WE use the natural rhythm of the horse's movement to "rein in" each client's full potential for motor, daily living, and communication skills. At Rhythm and Reins Therapy Services, we strive to provide a positive, caring and creative treatment approach, keeping the specific client's goals in mind. We emphasize having a well - trained staff of therapists, volunteers, and horses chosen for our client's specific needs. Directions - Our services are located within Indian Creek Stables, located 5 miles southwest of Trafalgar. We are currently accepting new clients. Blanca (now named Ruby) had a good first night! She did some shopping, took a good nap, ate some yummy food, and slept through the night. Ruby has some urinary concerns that we are hoping to address with the vet and she’ll need overall time to heal from her past, but we’re hopeful for a positive turn for her 🥰

These 8 dogs are ones that we feel would do well in a variety of homes. Reminder that adoptions are free and adopted animals are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and heartworm tested!

💕Charlie💕

Charlie is a great dog looking for an equally great home!

Charlie had an awful life prior to coming to us. Our goal is to find him a life so good he completely forgets about his past.

Charlie is approx 2-3 years old & lived most of his life (if not all of it) in a carrier. Not a dog crate.….a plastic travel carrier.

Charlie & 21 other dogs thankfully were confiscated from their “owner” & we were able to take Charlie in.

When Charlie arrived, he had a body condition score of 1. We have been working to refeed Charlie & he is making a lot of progress with gaining weight.

Despite this awful treatment, Charlie is the nicest boy. He likes everyone, he likes the other dogs he has met, and he works really hard to keep his kennel clean.

Charlie does a lot of spinning in his kennel, but who can blame him. When he’s out he is fine!

Charlie will need an understanding owner (all dogs do!), who is happy to work with him on learning how to actually be a family member. He is pretty eager around food, so feeding him in a crate would be best until he realizes food is coming regularly. We would also recommend a slow feeder style bowl, as he tends to scarf it down pretty quickly. 😢

**To add: Charlie is not a very large dog. I would consider him medium size.**

Sweet December is STILL looking for her forever home! She came to us from another organization who was helping the owner with her mom and dad. Mom is 102 lbs, and Dad is 68 lbs, so she is going to be a large dog full grown. She’s already starting to grow like a w**d in her foster home!

She is a friendly girl who has loved the people she’s met. She’s still a puppy, so she’s working on house training and crate training. She hasn’t met any kids yet, but she gets along with the dogs and cats in her foster home!
