Today, we had the absolute joy of celebrating one of our favorite residents, Mildred Flenniken, on her 94th birthday here at Madison Nursing and Rehab Center! 💐

Surrounded by her wonderful friends and loving family, Mildred enjoyed a fun-filled pizza party full of smiles, laughter, and unforgettable memories. 🍕❤️

Mildred’s kindness, wisdom, and warm spirit light up our center every day. We are so lucky to have her as part of our Madison family!

Deborah has been a dedicated member of the Genesis HealthCare family for 28 years—a true example of commitment and compassion. Over the years, she has worn many hats in our center, serving as a CNA, working in Central Supply, and supporting both our Social Services and Guest Services teams. No matter the role, Deborah brings heart, experience, and a deep love for our residents.

Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family and caring for her beloved animals at home. 🐾💕

National Nursing Home Week - Patriotic Day at Madison Nursing & Rehab!

Today we celebrated National Nursing Home Week in true red, white, and blue fashion! 🎉 Our residents and staff showed off their patriotic spirit with a festive Resident Parade, proudly dressed in their best stars and stripes. From flags and hats to smiles and laughter, the energy was contagious!

The celebration continued with a Patriotic Party full of music, joy, and classic American treats — delicious apple pie and ice cream were a hit with everyone! 🍎🥧🍦

Each square of our quilt features “Words to Live By” from our incredible residents and dedicated staff — meaningful quotes, life lessons, and advice that reflect the rich experiences and enduring spirit of our Madison family.

From funny one-liners to touching truths, this quilt is more than fabric — it’s a celebration of the stories, values, and voices that make our community so special. 🧓👵👩‍⚕️👨‍⚕️

🎉 National Nursing Home Week Celebration – West Virginia Day! 🌄💛💙

Today at Madison Nursing & Rehab, we celebrated our Mountain State pride with a special West Virginia Day as part of National Nursing Home Week! 🇺🇸

Staff showed their WV love by sporting their favorite WVU and West Virginia-themed shirts, creating a sea of gold and blue that brought smiles all around! 💛💙

Our day was packed with fun, including a West Virginia trivia contest that had both residents and staff showing off their state smarts. 🧠📚

The highlight? A true West Virginia-themed party featuring:
🥖 Homemade pepperoni rolls lovingly prepared by Virginia Cottrill
🥔 Mr. Bee's Potato Chips – the only potato chips made right here in West Virginia!

It was a beautiful day full of state pride, laughter, and community. Stay tuned for more fun as we continue celebrating all week long! 💐🏡

🌎🌼 Happy National Nursing Home Week from Madison Nursing & Rehab! 🌼🌎

Today’s theme was Earth Day, and while the rain may have washed out our plans to plant trees outdoors, it didn’t dampen our spirits! 🌧️✨

Instead, our residents and staff brought the beauty of nature inside by potting vibrant flowers that now brighten our halls. The smiles were just as big, and the dirt was just as fun! 🌺🪴

To top it off, our amazing team showed up in their best farming flair — overalls, flannel, boots, and all! 👩‍🌾👨‍🌾

Rain or shine, we're celebrating with heart and creativity. 💚 Stay tuned for more themed fun this week as we continue honoring our residents and the incredible community we share.

🎉🏇 National Nursing Home Week at The Madison – Derby Days! 🏇🎉

Today we kicked off National Nursing Home Week in style with a Kentucky Derby-themed celebration! 🌹🎩

Our residents enjoyed a festive day of fun and excitement, watching horse races on TV and cheering on their favorite “jockeys” during a lively staff race just for them! 🐎👒

Staff brought the Southern charm in full force, donning their finest Derby-themed hats and spreading joy throughout the center. The smiles, laughter, and sense of community made it a day to remember. 💐💕

With 16 years of nursing experience, Whitney brings both knowledge and compassion to everything she does. Her favorite part of the job? Leading and guiding her team through firsthand experience—she’s walked in their shoes and is passionate about supporting them every step of the way.

Outside of work, Whitney cherishes time spent with her beloved kids and dogs, making memories and enjoying life’s simple joys. 🐾💕
