Announcement from the Board of Directors of
The West Virginia Family Grief Center
After 22 years of dedicated service to the community, it is with both gratitude and sadness that we announce the closing of the West Virginia Family Grief Center. The last Night of Service will be held December 18, 2025.
Since our founding, the Grief Center has walked alongside children, families, and individuals navigating the profound challenges of grief and loss. Over the past two decades, we have been honored to provide a space for healing, remembrance and hope.
This decision was not made lightly. Changes in funding and resources have made it impossible to sustain operations at the level of care our community deserves. While the Grief Center will close its doors, the legacy of compassion, education, and healing that has grown here will continue to live on in the lives our program has touched.
The Board of Directors extends our heartfelt thanks to every volunteer, donor, staff member and family who has been a part of this journey. Your support and trust have allowed us to serve West Virginia families for more than two decades, and we are profoundly grateful.
Though this chapter is ending, we encourage families to continue seeking the support they need and to carry forward the message that no one should grieve alone.
With deep appreciation,
The Board of Directors
West Virginia Family Grief Center.
