This Halloween season, WVU OT (Occupational Therapy) and PT (Physical Therapy) students came together in an incredible interdisciplinary collaboration to design adaptive Halloween costumes for kids who use mobility devices! 💛💙

Using clinical reasoning, creativity, and a deep understanding of both function and fun, our students crafted costumes that not only fit over wheelchairs, walkers, and other assistive equipment—they celebrate them. Whether it’s turning a wheelchair into a spaceship 🚀 or transforming a walker into a superhero base 🦸‍♂️, each costume was tailored to the child’s unique abilities and interests.

✨ This project goes beyond costumes. It’s about empowerment, inclusion, and joy—giving every child the chance to fully participate in the Halloween fun, while also challenging future clinicians to think outside the box and work together across disciplines.

Way to go, Mountaineers! 🏔️💪
