A big, big welcome to our newest Volunteer and Therapy Dog!! Stephanie is a nurse at WVU Hospitals and she will be going above and beyond to care for her patients by bringing in her adorable pup Winnie! We are so excited to have them join us in the next couple of weeks. Make sure to keep an eye out for her in the halls. 😁🐕‍🦺

Ron and I handed out flags today to WVUH veteran patients. 🇺🇸
“How did you know I was a Vet?” Based on research, Gina Maiocco, worked with EPIC and CPM (WVUMedicine’s electronic medical record system & evidenced based care plan content developers) to implement military service history questions to be asked on admission.
#1 As a safety initiative for frontline providers working with combat vets who may experience anesthesia delirium
#2 So that Veteran volunteers ( ) have a report as to who the veteran patients are, to offer support in a civilian hospital.
