"The melody that the loved one played upon the piano of your life will never be played quite that way again, but we must not close the keyboard and allow the instrument to gather dust. We must seek out other artists of the spirit, new friends who gradually will help us to find the road to life again, who will walk the road with us."

Take a moment today to reflect.
We remember and honor the lives lost on September 11. We reflect on the bravery of first responders, the resilience of survivors, and the enduring strength of families who carry those memories forward.
Let’s continue to lead with kindness, compassion, and unity.

Dering’s Funeral Home is a long standing establishment of Morgantown. It was originally formed in 1909 by Fred Dering then was operated by his son, Edward Dering for a number of years. In 1984 the Dering family sold the funeral home to local investors in the funeral business. After working for Dering’s Funeral Home for fifteen years, Thomas Henson had the privilege and honor of buying the funeral Home in 2008 and changed the name to Dering-Henson Funeral Home. He enjoys meeting and serving the people of the community and is proud Dering’s has been a community friend since 1909.
