Welcome sweet girl…

Keeping in mind both the severity of my stretch marks and the fact that this is supposed to be a multi-treatment process, I’m so happy with the results!

She may not be an Olympian, but this teeny girl is already on her THIRD intensive therapy program (4 hours daily, 5 days weekly, for a month) and that sounds Olympic level to me. Lydia has logged more than FIVE HUNDRED hours of therapy over the last 12 months. Each session complete with an additional hour of driving time where she’s had to sit so good in her car seat when all she wanted was to be comforted and celebrated after a big workout.

Spoiler alert: it’s not at a deluxe resort ❌ But it does have a fireworks view, IYKYK

I can’t believe we’ve only been home two weeks and are already on the move again 🥴 eventually our schedule will slow down, but it’s definitely not this next two months. I’m so proud of my little peanut for how she’s embraced the changes and adventures we’ve thrown her way. I was truly nervous for air travel — but she’s unphased if not even prefers it! But alas, that is out of our tax bracket. 😅💗

Idk how they all ended up must-dos on the same day. 🥴😅

I feel like I should be nominated for What Not to Wear - Fragrance Edition because this is criminal. 🤪

I’m crying 🥹🥹🥹 It might not look like much to the rest of you, but I saw her first attempt at supported crawling and this is far more coordinated! My baby is SO STRONG!

At 2 months old, Lydia’s aunt and uncle invited her (and us) to Disney World with them. It wasn’t in our plans but we said yes anyways. And WOW I’m glad we did. Because only a month later we took up residency in the PICU with a very uncertain future for our daughter (to the extent of would she live?). And while nothing can truly console you in that type of situation, there is one thing from her first great adventure that stuck out. I was able to say my daughter had tried one other food besides breast milk. Her aunt shared a teeny tiny piece of cotton candy during that trip. It seems so insignificant really. But when you’re grappling with all the plans you had that are suddenly gone, it becomes all the more important to dig deep and find anything you can to stay positive and motivated. I’m so grateful to bring Lydia back to (and we made sure to get her more cotton candy) but I’m also so grateful to have taken that first trip with our family. You just never know what’s ahead: say yes more often.

IYKYK - Hopefully this finds the right people. 😂💚

The medically complex littles in your life deserve your TRIES. They don’t need perfect. And to the families going it alone, I see you. I hope better is around the corner.
