If it lingers, it can sometimes impact balance, coordination, and motor development. Understanding reflexes like Babinski helps us better support a child’s growth from the ground up—literally!

🧠🤚 Let’s talk palmar reflex! This reflex should integrate at around 6 months, but for various reasons it may not, and that’s where OT comes in!

When it integrates, it allows a child to develop more controlled and purposeful hand use, which is essential for tasks like holding a pencil, feeding themselves, and manipulating small objects. If the reflex does not properly integrate, it can impact hand function, coordination, and even aspects of handwriting and daily activities.
