🌧️🌱 Rain, rain go away… come again some other day! ☀️🌼

Our garden is ready and waiting to be planted 🌿🪴—just need a little sunshine and some dry ground to make it happen!

Until then, we’ll keep dreaming of rows of green, blooming flowers, and fresh harvests ahead 🌸🥕🍅

Who else is itching to get their hands in the dirt?! 🙋‍♀️🌻

If it isn’t one thing… well, you all know how that saying goes 😅⚡️

Just a quick heads up — something a little strange is going on with our lights in the refillery 💡 They’re randomly tripping off, some at times, all at another, and we’re not quite sure why yet. We’re actively looking into it, so hang with us while we track down the cause 🔍

In the meantime, we are OPEN and will be here until 7 PM today 🙌 If you see us glowing (or flickering 😆), come on in!

🍁 Also — maple syrup update! 🍁
We’ve got a couple gallons in pints and just a few quarts left — and what’s out there now is ALL we have for quarts! 😳 It’s going fast and stock is limited, so if you’ve been meaning to grab some… now’s the time!

Thank you all for your patience and support 💛

🍁✨ Sweet News from On The Banks! ✨🍁

We’re so happy to share that our 2026 Maple Syrup is officially bottled up, tagged and in the refillery — made right here on the banks from start to finish! 🏞️🔥 From tree to jar, this batch is something truly special, and we can’t wait for you to taste it.

Did you know… maple syrup isn’t just delicious — it’s got some natural goodness in it too? 🌿

🍁 Mineral-rich – contains manganese and zinc to support immune health
🍁 Antioxidants – packed with plant compounds that help fight inflammation
🍁 Natural energy – a more wholesome alternative to processed sugar
🍁 Gentler sweetness – lower glycemic impact than refined sugars when enjoyed in moderation

💲 Quarts – $25
💲 Pints – $15

🕘 Refillery is open 9 AM – 7 PM today
📍 2553 155th Ave, Morley, MI

Come grab a jar (or two 😉) and taste the goodness of the season! If the lights are on, come on in! 🏡✨

🌧️💦 Well… THIS is what spring looks like at On The Banks right now 😅🌱

Standing water everywhere, puddles turning into ponds, and my “organized chaos” of tools and greenhouse supplies just sitting patiently waiting for the next dry stretch 🚜🛠️🌧️

Around here, just about everything we do is either powered by the weather… or paused by it 🌦️🤷‍♀️

BUT—we’re rolling with it the best we can and we are OPEN today until at least 7 PM! 🕖✨

If you see the lights on… we are open!! COME ON IN! 💡🚪😊🌿

🌿✨ Happy Wednesday, Morley & all surrounding communities! ✨🌿

The refillery is OPEN today from 9:00 AM – 7:00 PM 🕘💧 Stop by and see what’s fresh!

We made some good progress on the parking lot yesterday 🚜 and I’m hoping to get a bit more done today before tomorrow’s rain rolls in 🌧️🤞 The new signs are finally up by the road too—turns out digging post holes is no small task around the old apple tree roots! 😅

I truly appreciate each and every one of you 💛 It’s been such a joy getting to meet so many of you face-to-face.

I’ll be out around the gardens today 🌱🌼 If you need anything, just give me a wave or ring the bell at the end of the covered porch 🔔

Hope to see you soon!

🌧️🥶 Well… I’ll just say it… today is downright MISERABLE. Sitting inside watching the greenhouse framing slowly fill up with cold rainwater is not exactly how I pictured this going 😅
I’ll take cold… I’ll take rain… but this cold, wet, bone-soaking combo hits different. Even with good gear (and trust me—good gear is priceless 🙌), it doesn’t take long before that chill works its way right into your bones.
So today might just turn into a homemade bread 🍞 kind of day… maybe a little spring cleaning,🧹✨ and catching up on staying connected to you all. Just trying to make the best of it while Mother Nature does her thing. I did plant snow peas in the ground a few days ago so I am sure they are loving it.
On a brighter (and honestly pretty fascinating) note—I snapped a really cool picture the other day of sap freezing on one of our maple trees 🌳❄️ It formed this BIG frozen sap “icicle” (we’re calling it a sap-sicle 😄). This happens when sap starts to flow during warmer daytime temps, then freezes again when temps drop back below freezing. The pressure inside the tree pushes sap out, and when it hits that cold air—it freezes layer by layer. Nature is wild and beautiful all at once 💛
Fair warning… your next trip out approach cautiously and wear mud boots. Seriously. I am not kidding 😅🥾
We sit at the lowest point on the road with hills on both sides, so when it rains, everything from 4 Mile AND Jefferson decides to visit us… right into the parking lot… every single time 🌊🙃
We DO see a light at the end of the tunnel though—hang in there with us 💪 My skid steer operating muscle memory is coming back, and I am absolutely LOVING the new skid steer 😎🚜 Progress is happening… even if it’s a little muddy getting there.
Stay warm, stay dry, and maybe bake some bread with me today.
🚜 The store IS OPEN
✝️ We will be CLOSED tomorrow and Saturday in honor of our Lord and Savior. He has been so good to us, even with all the challenges, we are truly blessed to be living on this land.
Enjoy my photo dump.

🌿✨ Life Behind the Scenes at On The Banks – Morley, MI ✨🌿

Whew… it’s been a season, friends.

After that icy day a few weeks back, Ken had a pretty scary spill on the quad… and just like that was suddenly out of commission at the sugar bush. 💔 He ended up with a broken collarbone and all the ribs on one side… talk about being knocked down hard.

We truly weren’t sure we’d even finish the season with the guy with all the knowledge down but this is where community shows its heart ❤️
Sister Dawn, Nephew Austin, Neighbor Lauren, and our Baldwin Buddies Jerry & Terry all rallied together alongside me—and because of that, we pushed through TWO more batches 🍁🔥 Ending the season with about 30 gallons of syrup 🙌

🙏 From the bottom of our hearts… thank you.
To our family, friends, and this incredible community—you carried us through when we needed it most. The help, the encouragement, the check-ins… none of it goes unnoticed. We are deeply grateful 💛
We’ve still got plenty of work ahead getting trees taken care of, supplies put away and all that goes with getting it jarred up and ready for the shelves—but it’s coming soon!

Out front… well… the mud is still winning 😅
I tried working on the parking lot, but it’s just too wet for the new skid steer in the lower areas… (yep… I got her stuck yesterday 🤦‍♀️ UGH). Warmer days are coming though, and we’ll get it handled proper soon ☀️

🌼 Good news though!
The Refillery is now OPEN
🕘 EVERY Tuesday – Saturday | 9am – 7pm (all summer long!)

With syrup season wrapped up soon, you’ll likely find me out in the garden right by the store 🌱 Come say hi—and don’t be shy if you need a hand!

We’re also busy inside, shifting things around, AGAIN, making space, dreaming big… there are some really good things coming down the pipeline. Thank you for your patience as we’ve navigated all of this behind the scenes—we appreciate you more than we can say 🌿 ✨

🌸 In the refillery now:
Zinnia mixes, hollyhock mix, Persian carpet zinnias
…with Black-eyed Susans coming in the next day or two!

🌱 The seedling hut is BURSTING with life, and the garden… oh the garden…
Garlic is popping up, anise hyssop is waking, saffron is peeking through, and the sage is brightening everything up 🌿

And the flowers… 🌼
Daffodils, daylilies, tiger lilies, hollyhocks, money plants… and so much more coming alive every day

🐝 The bees are back at it too—busy and bringing in loads of pollen

It’s one of those seasons where you can just feel the shift…
It is a good day to have a good day ☀️💛

Come on out and see us this week—we’d love to have you 🌿💚

🌿 A Little Apology from On The Banks 🌿

We want to send out a heartfelt apology to anyone who made the trip out yesterday and found the doors closed.

I was rushing around trying to get off to a Celebration of Life for my uncle, and Whitney was knee-deep in chaos of her own — much like our parking area right now. 🌧️ Mud, water, and all the mess that comes in with springtime. At one point she nearly slid right into the ditch by the store, so between the two of us neither one managed to get a post out to let folks know what was going on.

Truth be told, the parking situation is still a muddy mess… and after the storm it may even be worse. Right now we just can’t safely get anyone into the drive. 🚗🌧️

We’re waiting (a bit impatiently) for the frost to finally lift out of the roads so we can move forward with getting the parking spaces fixed up the way they should be. Spring around the river has its wild side, and this is one of those moments. We have hills on each side of the river and all that moisture ends up right in our parking area.

Thank you kindly for your patience and grace while we work through the mud season. Around here we know the ground will dry, the sun will shine again. 🌞🌱

We sure do appreciate this community more than words can say. 💚

Photo is of my truck stuck out there this week when I went to cut trees to expand the bee yard. I made in just fine, coming back out not so much. I was able to drive it out the next morning when things froze back up a bit.
