At our coworker blood drive at the Infirmary this week, our Trauma unit went above and beyond, making 41 blood donations in just four hours! They sent this message: "In the Trauma Department, we see firsthand how every drop counts. Today, we're rolling up our sleeves to give blood, because tomorrow, it might save a life."

Our Pets of St. Vincent this week are Aspen and Penny! These two adorable pups belong to Matt Jackson of CHI St. Vincent Heart Clinic Arkansas. Matt says Aspen was suffering from severe anxiety until Penny came along, and now the two are inseparable! Penny has helped Aspen overcome his anxiety, and in return Aspen reluctantly participates in Penny's dress-up shenanigans. We're excited to feature these two beautiful pups today!

This week we dedicated our new MRI machine at CHI St. Vincent North with a special blessing ceremony. Fathers Warren Harvey and William Carpenter blessed the new machine, the medical staff who would be using it, and the patients whose care will benefit from it.

This new MRI machine allows CHI St. Vincent North to scan more patients with images that process quickly and boast greater resolution, helping make our ministry of healing more effective than ever.

The wreck left her son with a traumatic brain injury, unable to speak or take care of himself. Now, Felicia was faced with the prospect of years of painstaking care and treatment to help her son recover. And once again, she refused to listen to doubt.

We're proud to announce that Emily Wincher, RN, Hot Springs, has been named a CHI St. Vincent Service Hero! Emily was caring for a patient who was at the end of life, and the patient's wife was understandably devastated. Emily picked up a small stuffed dog and put the patient's hospital band around its neck, and gave it to the wife to keep her company. The patient's family said it was the biggest help in processing their grief. Thank you, Emily, for such a sweet gesture of kindness.

A big thank you to our Respiratory Therapy team at the Infirmary for donating $500 worth of supplies to Baseline Academy in Little Rock! The donation will help stock the school's hygiene closet and support kids needing personal hygiene supplies. Thank you, team!
