The Dick Johnston Children’s Camp (DJCC) is for children, ages 8 to 11, whose parent is or was previously incarcerated. They will be on the mountain this summer July 19 to 24. Those who are "aged" out of the camp but still qualify can attend any of our other weekly camps. Please help us reach eligible families by providing them with the 2026 brochure (below). This camp is free to eligible campers and is primarily funded through donations from Episcopal churches in Arkansas and individual donors (see “Support DJCC 2026” below). Robert R. Brown Summer Camp 2026

Dear friends,

We are very excited to announce that the Camp Mitchell Board of Directors met yesterday and approved a plan for the Robert R. Brown (RRB) summer camp session to take place this summer. The session will be held from July 5–8.

RRB is Camp Mitchell’s summer camp session for adults with developmental, intellectual, and physical disabilities, and it remains one of our most treasured ministries. In the recent weeks, the Board has continued conversations with individuals who have extensive experience with the RRB session and expertise in caring for adults with special needs. We are grateful to Katie Batson, Wendy England, Janet Baugh Ortman, Dana Downes, and Jenny Kincannon for their partnership during this process, especially in the past week.

Jenny Kincannon has agreed to serve as Session Director, and we are deeply grateful for her leadership. Jenny and our Summer Camp Director, Dr. Angi Fay, will work together to recruit and support a strong session staff to serve alongside our summer camp counselors.

Our priority remains the same: to ensure that RRB is as safe, supportive, and successful as possible for campers, staff, and volunteers alike. We have every confidence in this year’s leadership team and are excited for this year’s session.

The Board still plans to begin a broader collaborative planning process this September to help ensure the long-term strength and sustainability of the RRB ministry. Stay tuned for more information.

Thank you for your support and feedback during this season of discernment. Please continue to keep Camp Mitchell and all its ministries in your prayers.

Registration will open online on Monday, May 18th.
