Everyone say Happy Birthday to Mavis! Yesterday she turned 16, and she got to have a wonderful celebration. Some nice relaxation, a good long walk, and ice cream from Cliff’s (an annual tradition).
Every birthday for Mavis is a reminder of her triumph over Lyme and Kidney disease in 2020, thanks to the loving care of her family and Dr. Adelsohn. And many more, Mavis!

Our December Pet of the Month is Harley! Handsome Harley has been a friend to the hospital for many years. We all love his joyful “good morning!” meows when he boards with us. This coming February, he will be a whopping 20 years old! Don’t let his age fool you, Harley still has plenty of zest.

Happy Halloween from the hospital! We just wanted to say we always love receiving pictures of pets in cute costumes - just be mindful that costumes and clothing can be stressful for them! Don’t forget to keep pets away from your sweet treats, and do your best to keep them safe and indoors during Mischief Night and Halloween. Have fun and don’t get spooked!

This past weekend the staff of Community Animal Hospital got into the autumn spirit and revived one of our traditions - a pumpkin carving party! We all had a blast (especially Loki and Zim). Have a spooktacular week!

Happy Veterinary Technician week! From October 12-18 this year we are celebrating our talented, intelligent, and kind vet techs. They help doctors with your pets in any way they can, from nail trims to blood draws to dental cleanings and even more! Thank you techs!

This past week we had the pleasure of having Pineapple, a conure, as a guest. We discovered he loves to watch tv, dancing and chirping along with the music! He’s a sweet little guy with a big personality.

THIS SUNDAY: Come to Buntoberfest, hosted by Willy’s Rabbits! At 11 o’clock there will be a talk with Dr. Cantamessa about liver lobe torsions. Following at 12, a talk with CAH’s own Dr. Adelsohn about the Do’s and Don’ts of Rabbit Care. Come learn some interesting facts about rabbits and maybe go home with some gifts for your hoppy friend!

As much as we all love cats and dogs, our doctors also help plenty of exotics - like Onyx, an eastern Hermann’s tortoise!
Onyx got an exam, plus a nice little pedicure today.
