Staff Training Notice -

We will be closed on Wednesday May 6th for a staff training day. We will reopen Thursday May 7th at 8am. If you need medication or food, please visit the office today, May 4th or Tuesday May 5th from 8am to 8pm. For a pet emergency please call Animal Emergency and Referral Associates at 973-788-0500, or Eclipse Vet Specialist 862-404-0911. For exotic pets please call Red Bank Veterinary Hospital at 732-747-3636.

Our May Pet of the Month is Carlo! Last month, Carlo turned 21 years old. Happy belated! We hope he didn’t party too hard. Carlo has been having appointments with us since he was just a kitten- all the way back in June 2005. What were you up to back then?

Today we have a little “before and after” for Bella - her first appointment three weeks ago and now! She’s definitely earning her name and is growing up beautifully. We hope to keep seeing her happy and healthy!

Yesterday, weighing in at a hefty 184 grams, tiny terrific Turtle had an appointment with Dr. Adelsohn! Despite her name, Turtle is actually a red-footed tortoise. She hatched around 10 months ago. Did you know red-footed tortoises can live over 50 years?

Our April pet of the month is the beautiful Posey! Posey is a 5 year old pit bull and hound mix. She was rescued from North Carolina and loves chasing squirrels, car rides, cuddling, kissing faces and Dr. Lee. This sweet lady has even charmed people who normally aren’t fans of dogs! Have a wonderful April, Posey.

Attention: Be cautious of cyclosporine available over-the-counter from online retailers. If you ever have any questions or concerns about over-the-counter drugs, don’t hesitate to reach out to us.

A product advertised as cyclosporine and sold online to pet owners without a prescription raised concerns among veterinarians whose patients were given the tablets. Cyclosporine is a potent immunosuppressant that requires a prescription to dispense.

VIN News confirmed with two practitioners that their patients' signs of illness resolved when their owners stopped administering the product.

Happy Saint Patrick’s Day from the hospital! Every year Dr. Van Beveren gets into the lucky spirit, dressing up and treating us to a feast with corn beef and cabbage! Thank you Dr. VB!

This is Kramer and his mom! He is a lab mix. Last week, Kramer had his first visit with us to see Dr. Van Beveren. He’s a little over a year old but he found his family 7 weeks ago! Congrats Kramer! Do you think he has good jokes up his sleeve?

Our March Pet of the Month is Sahara! Sahara is a 8 year old hound mix. Sahara found her forever home when she was 2 years old. Since then, she has proven to be a cuddle bug, snuggling up with the humans in her family and sunbathing with her sister Kitty!

Oh deer! How did a buck get in the hospital? Oh wait, that’s Finnick in his adorable costume! 15 weeks old and freshly adopted, we were all fawning over our new friend.
