Just wanted to give everyone a much overdue update on Bo. ❤️
Overall, he is doing pretty good right now. Unfortunately, he was down for over three or four weeks fighting a horrible infection. When that happens, it causes severe stomach pain and can spike his blood pressure to dangerous, stroke-level numbers. Because of that, he has been very hesitant to get far from home, and therapy has been pretty limited lately.
We’ve had a couple of his friends coming by to help him use the Tonal workout machine at home to try to help offset some of the therapy he’s missing. We are incredibly thankful for the people who continue to show up for him.
It’s become very obvious that Bo is in need of stem cells again. We knew how much they helped him before, but I think we forgot just how difficult things were without them. He’s struggling more with heat intolerance again, and even sunlight/UV exposure can quickly elevate his body temperature and trigger blood pressure spikes.
Even with all of that, Bo continues to amaze us. His gains since surgery have honestly been incredible. He has core control and balance in his chair that, according to his level of injury, he should not have. Watching him continue to fight through all of this has been nothing short of amazing.
One huge positive is that we finally picked up his wheelchair-accessible driving yesterday!! That is going to be life changing for him and give him a level of independence he has desperately needed.
Another exciting milestone — Bo will graduate from the CAD (Computer-Aided Design) program at Meridian Technology in just two weeks! We are so proud of him.
Thank you all for continuing to support, pray for, encourage, and follow Bo’s journey. It truly means more than you know.
