🎃 Last week, we had a lot of spooky Halloween fun going on! Our residents love the holidays and loved seeing everyone dress up for Halloween! 👻 We had a special dance of “Thriller” performed for our Halloween party by our restorative residents, activities, SDC and therapy team!

🎃 We tested out our associates' crafty skills last week with a pumpkin decorating contest, and let’s just say, we sure have a crafty bunch! We had a lot to enter the contest, but here are our chosen winners!

Taking home 1st place 🥇 was our Housekeeping department with Dolly Parton! 🦋 2nd place 🥈 went to Kelly, our SDC, with Oscar the Grouch. 3rd place 🥉 was a tie between Chelsey, our receptionist, with Elvis 🕺, and Annabeli with her ghost 👻!

This past Friday evening, we hosted a pumpkin patch in the courtyard for our residents along with a little campfire.🎃 We had a packed courtyard drill of residents and a few family members joining us!

We had warm apple cider 🍎, hot chocolate 🍫 and a little campfire to make a delicious s’mores. Some of our residents got to try their very first s’mores and they absolutely loved it! A big thank you to Gentiva Hospice, University of TN Medical Center Hospice Services, Amedisys Home Health of Morristown, and Caris Healthcare for bringing the pumpkins to complete our pumpkin patch along with our nurse Terry for bringing the hay and all the other staff who helped make this event great! 😄

We just celebrated our residents' and associates' most FAVORITE day of the year, Homemade Apple Butter Day! 🍎 We spend all day outside taking turns from residents to associates to even our wonderful hospice reps joining in on stirring and helping cook our homemade apple butter. 😋

It was all hands on deck with everyone joining in to get the job done. At the end of the day and after all the hard work, we enjoyed a nice tasting of our homemade apple butter with a nice warm biscuit from Cracker Barrel. A huge thank you to Terry, our MDS nurse, for always heading up this event and bringing the supplies, Gentiva Hospice for providing our apples 🍏, University of TN Medical Center Hospice Services for providing us biscuits to enjoy our apple butter with, and Caris Healthcare for providing us some jars! 🫙 And a big thank you to all of our staff and residents who helped us this year!👍
