October is According to the CDC, about 1 in 8 women will have breast cancer. Have you scheduled your annual screening mammogram? While we know life can get busy, it is important to make time for annual health check-ups and screenings as they are a proven way to detect cancer at an early stage. 💗

🍈 A lump, hard knot or thickening in or near your breast or under your arm.

More than 20 years of research have shown that acetaminophen is a safe, effective option for managing pain and fever during pregnancy. No high-quality evidence supports any claims that it causes autism in children. The real risks come from leaving fever or pain untreated. Please always consult with us about your medication use and concerns. We will share more links and articles in our stories with facts and research.

For NICU Awareness month we wanted to highlight our colleagues in Sam’s NICU at Goryeb Children’s Hospital, Morristown Medical Center, and the MidAtlantic Neonatology Associates! Their neonatologists and multi-disciplinary team specialize in caring for newborns who are premature or that require special medical attention who are born at MMC, but also ones in need that are transferred in from surrounding hospitals. Sam’s NICU is an over 45 bed Level III NICU. It is designated as a Regional Perinatal Center by the New Jersey Department of Health. 💙 We are so lucky to have our colleagues in MANA to work hand-in-hand with to help care for our patients and their growing families! 💙

💚 **World Su***de Prevention Day: You Are Not Alone** 💚

Reaching out for help can be the hardest step, but it’s also the most important. Remember, there’s always hope.

✨ **Important Reminders:**
- Asking for help is a sign of strength, not weakness.
- Even in the darkest times, support is available.
- Healing starts with connection—let’s break the silence together.

📞 **Immediate Support is Here:**
Call 1-800-273-TALK (8255) for 24/7 assistance.

Our very own, Dr. Arianna D’Angelo is fundraising for the American Foundation for Su***de Prevention- whose mission is to help save lives and bring hope to those affected by su***de. Dr. D’Angelo will be walking this month in both Chester and Hoboken, NJ. August is National Dog Month, and we know for some of you seeing us for OB services, your fur baby was your first “baby”. If you are expecting with a four-legged friend at home, here are a few tips for helping make the transition easier on your pup:

🍼As you get new baby gadgets- swings, strollers, and car seats- unpack and set them alongside your dog so they can see that these contraptions aren’t a big deal, even if they don’t know what they are for.
👶 When baby finally arrives, take an article of the baby’s clothing from the hospital, prior to baby coming home, and present it to the dog so they can investigate and become accustomed to the baby’s scent. You can do this with a baby blanket, baby hat, or onesies the baby wore.
🐶 When baby comes home, parents can offer the pup a treat each time they sniff the baby, behaves, or shows positive interest. Keep treats handy to help your dog learn that baby is okay. You’re aiming to make a positive association with baby by using praise and treats

Bonus ✨ the cutest picture of Dr. and Mrs. Iammatteo’s puppy Presley! 🐾
