🎅💚 Look who stopped by to check in on our Emergency Department today!

Santa and the Grinch made a surprise visit to spread smiles, laughter, and a little extra holiday magic. From brightening our team’s day to lifting spirits throughout the department, their visit was a joyful reminder of the season of giving. We’re so thankful for our incredible Emergency Department staff who care for our community every day even during the busiest time of year. Even the Grinch couldn’t help but feel the cheer! 🎄✨

Edgar the Elf traded the North Pole for our Therapy Center at Morristown Landing and got into the spirit of movement! 🎄💪

He watched patients stretch, strengthen, and celebrate progress, and even tried a few exercises himself. His favorite? Riding a sled on the treadmill… because why walk when you can sled? The therapists may have raised an eyebrow, but Edgar insisted it was “advanced elf cardio.”

Between cheering on patients, pretending to be the official therapy assistant, and testing the limits of therapy equipment (don’t worry, all approved!), Edgar saw firsthand how our amazing therapy team helps people get back on their feet and back to doing what they love.

Edgar the Elf spent the day tagging along with our Safety and EOC team, and it was a busy one! During EOC rounds, he learned all the important dos and don’ts of fire safety and evacuation procedures that help keep everyone safe.

✅ DO remember the RACE rule and know what to do in an emergency
❌ DON’T block fire extinguishers, pull stations, hallways, or exit routes

Although Edgar was a little disappointed there wasn’t any playtime on the schedule, he took his safety training very seriously. He listened closely, asked lots of questions, and proudly learned how even the smallest elf can make a big difference when it comes to safety. Staying safe is serious business, and Edgar was happy to lend a helping hand! 🎄🚨

🎄✨ Edgar’s Heart Check at Morristown-Hamblen West Diagnostic Center! ✨🎄

After weeks of candy canes, cocoa, and cookie taste-testing, Edgar the Elf decided it was time to make sure his holiday heart was in tip-top shape. Today, he came in for a Coronary Calcium CT Scan to confirm his arteries weren’t turning into peppermint sticks. ❤️

The results? Zero coal, 100% holiday cheer… and yes, a couple of candy canes tucked in for good measure. Turns out, Edgar’s heart is as festive as his glitter!

🎄 Edgar the Elf’s Wild Ride at Morristown Hamblen West ED! 🎄

Looks like Edgar learned the hard way that “Candy is dandy… but not in bulk!” After a marathon snack session in Santa’s workshop, he landed in our Emergency Department with a tummy ache that turned out to be pancreatitis. 😬

The verdict? Too many candy canes, gumdrops, and chocolate. 🍬🍫

But Edgar is a smart elf. He called ahead to 865-374-GOER (4637), got on the waiting list, and was able to chill at home (or the North Pole!) until it was his turn. ❄️ Talk about VIP elf service!

Don’t worry. Our amazing team got him fixed up with an IV and some TLC. He’s back to jingling all the way (with a strict candy limit)! 🎅✨

🎅 Career Update: Edgar the Elf is now a Sonographer! 🎅

Edgar partnered with one of our radiology students who came up with a fin-tastic idea: teaching a group of 8th graders about sonography… by performing an ultrasound on fish! 🐠

Our VIP patients were:
✨ Kenny, Imaging Manager—the king of the tank, ruling with fins and sonar sense!
✨ Acoya, Imaging Supervisor—the queen of the stream, making waves and keeping things current!

Why fish? Because they wanted to make the experience unforgettable, and Edgar was o-fish-ally diving into the fun! The students loved seeing how sonography works in real life. This engaging demo gave them a glimpse into the world of medical imaging and might even spark an interest in future healthcare careers.

Who knew learning could be this reel-y fun? Big applause for the creativity and Edgar’s new skills!

🐟 Disclaimer: No fish were harmed during this demo. They were pampered, loved like true VIP patients, treated with care, and are swimming happily after their big moment in the spotlight.

🎄 Edgar the Elf Gets His Checkup at Hamblen Primary Care! 🎄

Edgar popped into Hamblen Primary Care on the second floor of Morristown Hamblen West for his annual elf wellness visit. The results?

✅ Weight: 2 ounces (he blames the candy canes)
✅ Height: 13 inches (still waiting on that growth spurt)
✅ Temperature: Frosty and fabulous ❄️
✅ Ears: Clear and ready for Christmas carols 🎶

The team checked everything—ears, eyes, and even gave him a pep talk about laying off the gumdrops. He asked if the scale was broken… nope, Edgar, you’re just tiny!

🎄✨ Edgar’s “Elf-Care” Day at Morristown-Hamblen West Diagnostic Center! ✨🎄

Even elves need a check-up! Today, Edgar the Elf decided to take a break from the North Pole hustle and get his annual screenings. First stop: an X-ray (he wanted to make sure all that toy-making didn’t give him “reindeer elbow”). Then it was time for a mammogram and ultrasound — because yes, even boy elves can get breast cancer too! 💙

Edgar had questions:
🎁 “Can the X-ray check for too much holiday spirit?”
🍬 “Do you take candy canes as payment?”
🛷 “Will the ultrasound tell me if I’ve eaten too many sugar cookies?”

Spoiler alert: The answers were no, no, and… probably yes. In fact, the ultrasound spotted a few candy canes hiding in there!

🎄✨ A Festive Surprise in Labor & Delivery! ✨🎄

Guess who’s on baby duty? Edgar the Elf! He made a special trip to Labor & Delivery today to help celebrate a brand-new arrival. Edgar thought wrapping presents was hard — turns out, welcoming a baby is the ultimate holiday surprise! 👶🎁

Of course, Edgar didn’t do it alone. He teamed up with Tootsie, our official L&D elf, who knows all the tricks for spreading cheer (and keeping Edgar from trying to swaddle with gift wrap). Together, they made sure this little one’s first day was full of joy and holiday magic! 🎅🤶

The new baby stayed cozy in our Panda Warmer — because even elves know babies deserve the warmest welcome! 🌟

And speaking of warm welcomes, we’re thrilled to introduce our new Certified Nurse Midwives to the team. Their expertise and compassionate care make every birth experience extra special — no elf magic required!
