You are allowed to feel it.

When we first meet with survivors, there’s often one consistent request… anonymity.

And rightfully so.

Survivors are often living in a space where safety means staying unseen. Where using their name feels risky. Where simply existing in peace is still something they are fighting for.

But something incredible just happened.

We recently reached out to a few survivors to share testimonials for an upcoming feature article, and every single one of them came back with the same shift…
You can use my first name.

That might seem small to some, but it is anything but.

That is what safety looks like.
That is what healing looks like.
That is what empowerment looks like.

It is the moment someone goes from hiding… to reclaiming their voice.
From surviving… to beginning to stand in their story.

That is the power of Kelly’s K9s.

And we do not take that trust lightly.

A version of you that understands why things unfolded the way they did.
A version of you that has turned pain into purpose, confusion into clarity, and survival into strength.

You may not be there yet.
But you are on your way.

Healing is not linear. It is messy, uncomfortable, and at times exhausting.
But every step forward, no matter how small, is movement toward that future version of you.

Keep going.

Sometimes it’s the one moment of softness someone receives all day.

Today something incredibly beautiful happened.

One of our dogs went home with a survivor.

Tonight he will be lying in his new home beside a woman who once lived in fear, now standing in her power with a protector by her side. He’ll soon learn the sounds of her home, the rhythm of her life, the people he will now guard with unwavering loyalty for the rest of his life.

Our survivor traveled from out of state to train with Kelly and Bobby this week. For days they worked together from morning to night. Training. Learning. Building trust. Preparing for the responsibility of handling a protection dog.

And something powerful happened as the week unfolded.

With every session her smile grew. Her confidence grew. You could see the shift happening right in front of us. The quiet weight survivors carry starting to lift.

This is why we do this.

Protection dogs are not just dogs. They are safety. They are freedom. They are the ability to sleep through the night. They are the ability to walk through the world knowing you are not alone anymore.

Today is the first day of her new life.

She has committed to continuing her training and will be traveling back to work with us so their bond can continue to grow. And we cannot wait to watch their partnership deepen.

This is Stella’s legacy at work. 💜🐾

Not because this story is easy to tell, but because it needs to be told.

From surviving in silence to standing in purpose.
This never would have happened without the people who believed in me when I couldn’t, especially Bobby Gierla from , who doesn’t just breed and train dogs, but helped me rebuild trust, strength, and safety when I had lost all three.

Every scar, every step, every dog led here, especially because of Stella.

This is for every survivor who feels alone and powerless. You aren’t. And this isn’t the end of your story. I’m living proof of that.
