S***m don’t all swim the same — and the uterus can actually tell the difference.

During the fertile window, cervical mucus becomes more selective, creating channels that guide only the healthiest, strongest s***m forward. This natural filtering process helps ensure that the s***m that reach the egg are the most viable.

It’s a fascinating example of how the reproductive system actively participates in conception — not just passively. Have questions? Make an appointment with a provider today.

Q: Plan B is the same as the abortion pill, right?

A: It’s not. Plan B prevents pregnancy; it doesn’t end one.

Plan B prevents pregnancy before it starts — it cannot end an existing pregnancy. It works by delaying ovulation, and it’s most effective when taken within 72 hours.

Emergency contraception is a safe, FDA-approved option used by millions of people every year.

Confused about what’s right for you? A Planned Parenthood educator or clinician can walk you through your options.

Your period blood can say a lot about what’s going on in your body — and no, it’s not always red.

Bright red? Fresh flow.
Brown? Older blood.
Pink? Lighter flow or hormone shifts.
Purple or clotted? Could be normal — or time to check in with a provider.

Every body’s cycle looks a little different, and that’s totally normal.

Condoms rarely break when they’re used correctly, but if it happens, don’t panic.

1. Take a deep breath.
2. If there’s a risk of pregnancy, emergency contraception (like Plan B or ella) works best ASAP.
3. If there’s a risk of STIs, get tested in about two weeks.

Accidents happen but care afterward is what counts. is here with judgment-free care, testing, and emergency contraception when you need it.

Mifepristone is one of two medications used in a medication abortion. It’s been FDA-approved for more than 20 years and has been safely used by millions of people in the U.S. and around the world.

Mifepristone works by blocking the hormone progesterone, which is needed for a pregnancy to continue. When taken with misoprostol, it’s a highly effective, evidence-based method of ending an early pregnancy.

If you have questions or need care, health centers are here to help with accurate information, compassion, and support.
