✨ Garalakanthah – From Tulasidalam by Brahmarshi Pitamaha Patriji
➡️People often “spit venom” at others due to insufficient and imperfect knowledge.
➡️They develop negative feelings and keep reacting to others.
➡️This is called Nakaratmaka (negativity).Negativity is like venom (Garalam).
🔺 The Practice of Garalakanthah
We must stop this venom at the throat (Kantha) itself—without swallowing it and without expressing it outwardly.
Instead, we should cleanse it in the Vishuddha Chakra (throat energy center).
One who can do this is called a Garalakanthah:
Garalam = Venom
Kantha = Throat
🌙 Divine Example
In Shiva’s story:
He holds the moon (Chandra) on his head
And retains the deadly Halahala poison in his throat
👉 Meaning:
He accepts and reflects the good (like the cool moon)
He contains negativity without spreading it
🧘♂️ Spiritual Insight
Similarly, a Jnani (wise person):
Appreciates and speaks about others’ good qualities
Holds back their mistakes and negativity without reacting
This teaching is also beautifully explained by Ratnakaram Balaraju in his book Dhammapada.
🔥 Core Teaching
Unless a person becomes a Garalakantha—able to handle negativity without absorbing or expressing it—
they cannot evolve into a true Spiritual Scientist.
