Today some of our staff had the opportunity to attend Recovery Day at the State House! It was an incredible program focusing on the value of lived experience in developing strategies to address Substance Use Disorder as well as the power of families and motherhood for supporting enduring recovery.

As a few speakers said, “behind every statistic is a story” and it’s our job to “demonstrate radical generosity”

Happy recovery day! We’re so proud of everyone in our recovery community! YOU make us possible!

Today we gathered at NCVRC for our Recovery Day watch party 💜

Some of our team were there in person, while others gathered here to watch the livestream in support of recovery, resilience, and hope.

Recovery is possible. And no one has to do it alone 🤝

NCVRC was excited to table at Vermont State University Johnson Campus first-ever Sexploration Fair!

The event connected students with resources, information on healthy relationships and consent, and ways to access confidential support.

Events like this help break down stigma, encourage safer practices, and remind students they’re not alone.

NCVRC is proud to stand at the intersection of substance use, recovery, and healthy relationships.

“I always had a hard time getting past one or two months.

I came into the Recovery Center a few times before, but I would stop showing up because I’d start drinking again. I always tried, but it didn’t stick.

This time was different. I had the right support system. My therapist, a recovery coach, my kids. I wasn’t afraid of therapy. I’d been in therapy for years. But having both therapy and recovery coaching made a big difference for me.

My relationships changed. Everything felt different.

I had to acknowledge that this was something I needed to do for myself, if I wanted to get further than I ever had before.”

— Shared with permission from one of our recovery coaching participants, who celebrated one year of sobriety last month.

Recovery often takes multiple attempts. The people around you, the timing, and the support you have can make all the difference.

What has made recovery stick for you?
