                                            We are living in an epidemic of 'crisis breath'. When facing peril, the natural response is to constrict and breathe in a quick and shallow fashion. Once the peril is gone, typically in a relatively quick fashion, our breathing returns to a slower, and deeper norm.
With our abstracting brains, we humans often hold on to the experience of danger and crisis far beyond what is in service to our safety and well-being. So we continue with the shallow and quick breathing, the crisis breath. This compromises the oxygenation that contributes to optimal health.
