Our Sensory Gym🏋️‍♂️ 🧠💪

Sensory Processing Skills describes the way the body receives and interprets incoming stimuli through our senses (Taste, Touch, Hearing, Vision, Smell)

Pediatric Occupational Therapists use activities during the session at times to help children focus, calm down and organize their thoughts prior to structured activities and tasks. Sensory activities and tools enable children to adapt to their environment when they maybe stressed, overwhelmed, or anxious. This child has Autism and began his session yelling and screaming. He was calmed by utilizing a platform swing and dimmed lighting with calming effects by a Licensed Occupational Therapist.
