Receiving kindness bags from the 4th graders at Morton Elementary was such a heartwarming surprise! Each bag was like a little bundle of sunshine, filled with thoughtful goodies and handmade notes that instantly brightened our day. It was incredibly touching to see the effort and care these young students put into spreading joy and positivity throughout our community. Their simple act of kindness served as a powerful reminder of the impact we can all have on each other's lives, no matter how small the gesture💚

Employee Spotlight: A Dream Team at Heritage House Morton 💙
Today we’re doing things a little differently… because sometimes one spotlight just isn’t enough!

At Heritage House Morton, our Life Enrichment dream team, Deming and Pendergrass, work side by side to plan engaging activities and events for their residents. They work hard to create a strong sense of community that you can feel as soon as you walk through the door.

Emily shared what inspired her to step into this work:

“My Mother!! She truly is an amazing, outstanding person. The difference she made made me want to pursue it as much as she did… Tammi Elswick goes above and beyond for her community. She really shows what a true kind-hearted person is! You could ask any employee or any resident, and they would tell you the same.”

That heart for care is something Emily now brings into her role each day, following in Tammi’s footsteps. (She actually tried to nominate her mom for this spotlight instead, which says a lot about both of them.)

Billie, who has been part of Heritage House Morton for over 15 years, shared how she found her purpose in senior living:

“My journey at Heritage House began when I earned my CNA certification during my senior year of high school, and has since become a deeply rewarding experience. Over the past 15 years, I’ve been privileged to connect with our residents, preserving their legacies by listening to their stories, ensuring their comfort and dignity, and being someone they can lean on for support.

Now, as the Life Enrichment Coordinator, I have the opportunity to bring joy and engagement to their lives… a role that perfectly complements the profound sense of purpose I've discovered here.”

Together, it’s clear that this dream team brings so much heart into their community. It’s not just about activities, it’s about connection and making residents feel at home.
