Please join us in welcoming the 2024-2026 cohort of North Idaho AHEC Scholars!

AHEC Scholars is a nationally recognized, HRSA endorsed, two-year program designed to enhance and broaden a student's healthcare training. During each of the two years, an interprofessional cohort of students participate in a combination of didactic and community-based experiential training in a rural community and/or with underserved populations. North Idaho AHEC scholars are selected through a competitive application process, based on lived experience, academic achievement, and demonstrated commitment to improving the health of rural and underserved communities.

The 2024-2026 AHEC Scholars cohort is comprised of medical students from Idaho WWAMI, dietetics students from UI Margaret Ritchie School of Family and Consumer Sciences, and a nursing student from LCSC Nursing & Health Sciences Division.
