We worked & played in our community garden with our lovely volunteer, who was an incredible help! 😍

We pulled weeds, harvested veggies, and cleaned up the garden beds and surrounding areas to create a beautiful breath of fresh air for our residents, team, and community members. 🫶

Thank you to WSU Pullman and everyone at the Center for Civic Engagement (CCE)!

Something spooky for this Halloween. What a fun event!

I know it feels early to be talking about Halloween, but we wanted to give families plenty of time to plan! As we get closer to the date, more details will be coming out. This is going to be an epic event!!

Help make an impact today!

We are in need of a new location! We have outgrown our current location and it has become difficult to provide all the services we do in such a small location.

While I realize this is a big ask - but ideally we would like to open an Autism Community Center.

A center that we can provide trainings, workshops, support groups, child care, lending library, life skills and so much more (a lot of our stuff is in storage.)

We work tirelessly for this community - and our advocacy has expanded well beyond what I would have ever imagined as we also help with foster care, CASA - dealing with abused and neglected ASD children, s*x abuse resources as well as criminal defense resources and supports when ASD individuals find themselves in situations with the law.

We want to continue to provide events, and be able to have on-site resources - a place that is safe and welcoming to all, even if it’s just a place to vent and be around folks who understand.

If you know of anyone willing to let us use their building - or if you have a location that would work, we are a 501(c)(3) and can provide receipts of rental assistance.

We want to remain in Kootenai county as we feel it’s important to have representation here in Northern Idaho.

If you have suggestions - please PM me, or email me at info@autismsocietyofidaho.com

If you don’t have a building but want to help - please buy tickets or a table at our Gala with Temple Grandin as we are hoping to raise enough funds to help us reach our never ending goals and dreams!

Thank you!!

Community service is one of the keys to happiness.

In the afterglow of last nights event, we’d like to thank our volunteers who really stepped up to help the night be a success! Our board is all volunteer, and I am personally appreciative for our team, but having the extra hands makes light work! From manning tables to making faces on cheese sticks, your help was greatly appreciated.
Giant thank you to: Janae and Michael Davenport, Loren Burgeno and Eli, Claire Roy, and the team from Caravel Autism Health, and Milestone Decisions, Inc. Coeur d'Alene
If you’re interested in volunteering at a future event, being part of the board, or if you met us for the first time and have some questions, please reach out: info@autismsocietyofidaho.com

Lastly, if you’re NOT in the CDA area but want us to have fun events in your area, WE NEED YOU! Reach out to see how you can help us serve your communities!

Our Story

Intermediate Care Facilities for the Intellectually Disabled: ICF/IDs, typically known as group homes, is a concept that started in the mid 70’s to move from large institutional settings to a more community based, normalized arrangement. Our first home opened in 1983, our second in 1986 and our third in 1991. Each home is licensed by the State of Idaho for 8 residents. The homes are all located in residential neighborhoods, are modern, well-kept and adapted for the needs of the residents. Residential Habilitation: In 2001 Milestone Decisions became certified as a Residential Habilitation Agency to provide 24-hour services in the community under Idaho Medicaid’s Home and Community Based Waiver Program. This program continues the progress toward achieving normalization and community integration by providing services in an apartment or residential home. We currently provide services to 18 individuals living in 7 locations in Moscow and 17 individuals in 6 homes in Coeur d’Alene. Daily Life: The emphasis at each location is to create the conditions where each person receiving services feels unique, important and useful. The staff ratio is generally one staff to two individuals with the ability to provide one-to-one staffing where necessary for pre-vocational and vocational training, recreational activities or increased supervision. Regularly scheduled activities include swimming at a therapy pool, therapeutic horse riding classes, art sessions, bowling, shopping, movies, and other community or local sporting events. It is not uncommon for individuals or a group to go to Spokane for a hockey game or even to Seattle for a baseball game.
