Pullman Regional Hospital and Inland Orthopaedic Surgery & Sports Medicine Clinic are expanding access to sports medicine through a new team member, Sports Medicine Physician Michael Osterholt, MD.

Dr. Osterholt will see patients for Sports Medicine-related injury diagnosis and treatment at Inland Orthopaedics of Pullman and student-athletes on the Palouse. He works with patients and athletes of all ages and abilities. He also joins Washington State University Athletics as a team physician, caring for student-athletes on campus, at the request of athletic trainers and during games.

Dr. Osterholt is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, American Medical Association, and American Medical Society for Sports Medicine. He has experience working with athletes at a variety of levels including University of Nebraska student-athletes, Creighton University student-athletes, team physician for the College World Series, Omaha Lancers USHL Hockey Team, and Rapid City Youth Boxing.

Dr. Osterholt likes the Sports Medicine field because he enjoys fixing problems and injuries. He wants his patients to know that his goal is to get down to the crux of their problem and be realistic and supportive about how they can get better through personalized care plan development. “I truly enjoy sports medicine because I have the opportunity to help people across all activity levels stay active and functional and continue to do the things they love,” says Dr. Osterholt.

Pullman Regional Hospital and Inland Orthopaedic Surgery & Sports Medicine Clinic are excited to welcome back Dr. Steven Pennington, Orthopedic Surgeon!

Dr. Pennington is Board-Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, Sports Medicine. Dr. Pennington has been providing orthopedic care on the Palouse since 1997. He was also the Team Physician for the Idaho Vandals for 21 years.

Dr. Pennington’s philosophy of care is to help improve the quality of life for each patient. “I know I’m not seeing a patient on their best day- they’re hurting, they’re in pain. My goal is to help.” He’s passionate about joint replacements- including partial knee replacements and anterior hips. He also has an interest in hand surgeries and carpal tunnel.

For the past 3 years, Dr. Pennington and his wife, Rachel, were on a church mission in Argentina leading a group of 150-200 young missionaries. “I loved this experience, but I missed orthopedics and my patients,” says Dr. Pennington. Outside of work, Dr. Pennington and his wife look forward to spending time with their five children and grandchildren and reconnecting with the Pullman and Moscow communities.

Patients can see Dr. Pennington through a referral to Inland Orthopaedic Surgery & Sports Medicine Clinic. He will see patients at both the Pullman and Moscow Inland Orthopaedics locations. Explore services: https://bit.ly/3Abad7s
