Our Watercrest Richmond residents were proud to support Mrs. Ashlee Gutierrez’s 5th grade class at Gordon Principal in Chesterfield County through our annual school supply drive! ✏️📚

This will be Mrs. Gutierrez’s 7th year teaching, and her dedication and love for her students shines through year after year. We’re grateful to all who donated and made this effort possible, including Builders FirstSource, Suncrest Hospice - Richmond, Enlight Hospice of VA, Crater Community Hospice, Inc., ACG Hospice, and Bon Secours Richmond Health System.

A special thank-you to Principal Bare for coming out to take a photo with our residents as we delivered supplies. Together, we’re helping students start the school year ready to learn and thrive! 🍎

We had the honor of celebrating Alton Spain’s 99th birthday with a surprise party at his favorite spot... MISSION BBQ! 🐽🎉

Alton is a proud World War II U.S. Navy Veteran and a familiar face at Mission BBQ, where he’s greeted by name and never pays for his meal. For this milestone celebration, his family, friends, staff, and Resident Ambassador Patty gathered to cheer him on. One special highlight was finding a photo of Alton and his mother displayed on the restaurant’s honor wall!

Happy 99th Birthday, Alton, what an incredible life and legacy to celebrate! 🥳

Bacon in the Bloody Mary. Bacon on the donuts. Bacon in the trivia questions!

At Watercrest, we don’t just like bacon... we built an entire celebration around it! For , our residents enjoyed maple bacon donuts (courtesy of JoJo and Mathew from ReSkin Medical 🩺), sizzled through bacon-themed trivia with Mr. Sizzle, and raised glasses of Bloody Mary: bacon garnish included.

Along the way, we picked up some crispy facts: like pork belly curing in ancient China, or the 1920s French cologne that smelled like Sunday breakfast. We're savoring the simple joys, one crispy strip at a time! 🥓

At Watercrest Richmond, we take the time to make sure our Resident Ambassadors feel appreciated. So, here is another Ambassador Luncheon in the books! 🌮

Our Resident Ambassador Patty invited the group to her favorite local spot: The Mexican Grill in Powhatan, VA, where she and her son Rick shared lunch with fellow residents. Big thanks to the restaurant for the warm hospitality, and even the Sheriff’s Department who dropped by to say hello!

Spencer and the team stopped by for a round of balloon volleyball with our residents. We can always count on BAYADA to bring value in every interaction, from individual visits to group games and everything in between. So grateful for this partnership!

Our assisted living group headed out to Boil Bay North Chesterfield for a Friday night seafood dinner! 🦀

Ann shared that the meal reminded her of camping weekends in Mathews County, where her family had seafood nights around the fire. It also happened to be karaoke night! No one took the mic this time, but we're already planning to give it a shot on the next visit.

Did you know the world’s heaviest watermelon weighed 350.5 pounds? 🍉

On August 3rd, our Memory Care residents celebrated with a juicy social hosted by Brad from Legacy Hospice! ✨ Alongside ice-cold lemonade and second (and third!) helpings of this summer treat, we tested our knowledge with fun watermelon trivia: like how over 1,200 varieties exist and seeds were even found in King Tut’s tomb.

Last week’s “whimsical moment” brought some bold flavors to Watercrest Richmond... all thanks to Jarret from Serenity First Hospice! Our residents enjoyed a chip-dipping bar, margaritas (mocktails included!), good music, and of course, a photo op with a very spirited taco. 🌮🎉

Brunch this good deserves a standing ovation! Our culinary team brought their A-game to this month's themed brunch, and it didn’t go unnoticed. From the first pour of coffee, our residents and their families had one phrase in common: “best ever!” The flavors, the service, and the pride from our team made it an exceptional experience. 👏
