102 years old! 🎂

That number stops you for a second, and it should. What a gift it is to celebrate Vida Spencer and this extraordinary milestone here in our community. Vida recently turned 102, and the joy of her story is just as beautiful as the number itself. She loves sweets, loves bingo, and above all, gives praise to the Lord for blessing her with a long life.

Vida says she is thankful for the associates who help care for her each day, and local news coverage noted that she credits her longevity to her faith, staying social, and enjoying plenty of sweets.

A big thank you goes to Lily and Archie for spending time with our Assisted Living and Memory Care residents!

Their visit brought plenty of cuddles and snuggles, and it was clear Archie was right at home making new friends. We loved having them with us and always appreciate the joy a sweet visit like this can bring. 🐾

If someone you love is living with Alzheimer’s or memory loss, the questions can feel heavy. Watercrest Richmond invites you to join us on May 20 for a special screening of the PBS documentary Alzheimer’s: The Caregiver’s Perspective, followed by an introduction to our Illuminate Memory Care program. 💙

This evening is designed for families, caregivers, and anyone looking for guidance, support, and a better understanding of what compassionate memory care can look like. Light refreshments and door prizes will be provided.

Baking has a way of bringing back memories, and that is exactly what made this time together so special. Through a new monthly activity with Penny’s Pretty Pastries, residents had the chance to reminisce about the recipes they used to make at home, the treats they baked for their families, and the simple joy that came with it all. 🍰

Our Memory Care's garden got a refresh thanks to Veronica and a group of residents who were ready to help! Their green thumbs knew exactly how to get the work done. Stay tuned to see what our garden grows! 🌱

When our residents were asked during the Engagement Meeting whether they wanted an Easter Egg Hunt or a Petting Zoo, the answer was clear! The Petting Zoo was the favorite, and it didn't take long for that to become the trending topic around Watercrest Richmond.

Thank you to Suncrest Hospice for helping bring it to life. Our residents were so excited for it, and it was easy to see why! 🐑

gave residents, associates, and directors a reason to head outside for a walk together. Seeing the directors taking part encouraged more people to join in, and the group grew as they went. 🚶

Some moments do not need much planning, just the right people. In our Music Room, Melanie and Deanna joined Mary for an afternoon of singing and playing music. With Melanie’s time in the Joyful Voices Choir and Deanna’s background playing organ at church, music gave each of them a way to connect and revisit an important part of who they are. 🎹🎶

Jennifer’s Director-Led Program, “Granny Panties,” definitely got everyone’s attention! Our residents came in not quite knowing what to expect, then quickly fell right into the activity. Sometimes the most unexpected programs are the ones that get people talking long after they’re over! 😄
