🧊✨ Teamwork, One Icebreaker at a Time!

At Summer Wood, our staff meetings always start with a fun, hands-on icebreaker—and they’re never just games. Each one is designed to help us grow as a team through communication, collaboration, and connection.

This month’s challenge? Jenga… but with a twist! 🧱

Working in small groups, we used the game to explore what it really takes to keep something standing—whether it’s a tower or a team. We had to listen, plan, trust each other, and make decisions together under pressure. And yes… there were some loud crashes and lots of laughter! 😂

What we learned:
✅ Communication makes or breaks the game
✅ Every block (and every team member) matters
✅ We’re stronger when we work together
✅ And even if it all comes tumbling down—we get back up as a team

These moments matter. They bring us closer, help us grow, and remind us why we show up each day—for our residents, and for each other. 💛

🌿 Garden Club in Full Bloom! 🌿

Today in Garden Club, our residents showed us once again what true independence looks like. In these photos, you’ll see our amazing resident Mary leading the way—filling up containers, double-checking that every plant has just the right amount of water, and keeping the whole group on track.

Moments like this are what we’re all about. We believe in promoting resident-led activities that encourage purpose, routine, and joy. Our role is to support—not direct—as our residents continue making decisions, leading projects, and living each day with meaning.

After all, this is their home. 💚

🎾 Pickleball Pros in the Making at Frontier Senior Living! 🏓

Our residents hit the pickleball court today with enthusiasm and plenty of smiles! With friendly competition, spontaneous trick shots (intentional or not 😉), and a soundtrack of joyful cheers, the energy was infectious. It’s amazing what fun, connection, and a little physical activity can do for the spirit.

From seasoned players to those trying their first serve, everyone brought something special to the game—and no one left without a sense of accomplishment. Cheers to staying vibrant, connected, and full of fun!

What’s better than a cold root beer float on a warm summer day? Enjoying one with friends—and being served by the lovely Marge, Gayl, and Sylvia! 💛

Our residents had a blast at today’s root beer float party, full of sweet treats, laughter, and great company. There’s nothing like a simple joy to bring everyone together. Cheers to summer fun and the wonderful women who made it extra special! 🥳

Today our residents got creative making handmade clay ring toss bottles in preparation for our upcoming summer events! This fun and purposeful activity is part of our Montessori-based Spark Program, which encourages engagement, independence, and meaningful moments for every resident.

🐾 Pet Therapy Visit with Fig! 🐶💛

We had the sweetest visitor at Summer Wood Memory Care — Fig the dog from Grant County Animal Outreach stopped by to spread some tail-wagging joy! 🐕✨

Pet therapy is more than just cuddles and kisses (though we love those too!). Visits like this bring comfort, reduce stress, spark joyful memories, and remind us of the unconditional love only a furry friend can give.

Fig was an absolute star—bringing smiles, laughter, and heartwarming moments to residents and staff alike. 💙
