Premier Health opened less than two years ago with just 4 employees…

Since then, we’ve expanded, tripled our clinic size, and grown our Premier Health family to 15 team members—including the addition of certified nurse midwife Rebecca Cole, who has already hit the ground running and is busy seeing patients.

We thought it was time for you to get to know the people behind Premier Health—one by one.

First up: Dr. Ryan Rasmussen… whose video we had to trim down quite a bit—because he tends to talk too much. 😄

A Full-Circle Moment at Premier Health ❤️

Joanne was Dr. Rasmussen’s very first Premier Health patient delivery at the new Samaritan Hospital shortly after it opened. Her pregnancy was complicated by severe preeclampsia, and there were some tense moments along the way—but she and Jason trusted Dr Rasmussen and the hospital staff every step of the way.

Severe preeclampsia affects only ~0.5–1.5% of pregnancies in the United States, yet it contributes to up to 9% of maternal deaths annually.

This week, they stopped by Premier Health with their healthy baby boy… and moments like this are exactly why we do what we do.

Seeing a family walk back in—smiling, thriving, and holding a healthy newborn after everything they went through—is something that never gets old.

Joanne and Jason, thank you for trusting us during such an important time in your lives. It was an honor to be part of your journey.

Premier Health is growing, and we are excited to introduce the newest member of our team!

Was able to deliver the very last baby at Samaritan Hospital this morning, just minutes before the doors officially closed.

As I was leaving the old hospital and watching admitted patients being transported to the new Samaritan Hospital, I couldn’t help but reflect on the many experiences I’ve had there over the years. Some of the most rewarding — and some of the scariest moments of my career happened within those walls.

Seeing Stephanie Adame Martinez stop by the hospital to thank the healthcare workers before the doors officially closed was the perfect reminder of why we do what we do. Healthcare workers push through the stress, long hours, and sleep deprivation because we hope to make a positive difference in someone’s life.

I’m incredibly thankful for my amazing wife April, who puts up with this crazy lifestyle. I’m grateful for my Premier Health family for always going above and beyond for our patients. And I’m thankful for the entire Samaritan Hospital staff for the outstanding care they’ve provided to not only my Premier Health patients, but to this entire community.

I love this community... It’s been an incredible 10 years practicing here, and I’m not going anywhere!

Big shoutout to all of our Premier Health patients and community! 💙 None of this would be possible without your trust and support.

2025 was an incredible year—nearly 11,000 patient encounters, close to 240 babies delivered, and Dr. Rasmussen becoming one of the busiest Gynecologic Robotic Surgeons in the entire Pacific Northwest. We are beyond grateful for the opportunity to care for this community.

And the best is yet to come.

2026 will be a year of growth. 🚀
In the coming months, our clinic will more than double in size, allowing us to expand services, grow our team, and continue improving access to care. We’ll also be looking to welcome additional providers to the Premier Health family to work alongside Dr. Rasmussen and further support the needs of our community.

As we grow, giving back remains a core part of who we are. Premier Health is committed to continuing our support of local schools, youth sports teams, community events, and family-centered activities, because investing in our community is just as important as caring for our patients.
