All right everyone…Shannon and I have just started our journey with Ring Dips!
Look how smooth Mr. Burns is on those rings🔥 Now check me out with the shake! At the end I was able to control the movement a little better but I have work to do and you bet I’m going to do it!
I’m stoked I was able to do what I did and Shannon’s dips are inspiring!

One of the things I often find myself telling my clients is…
“It’s not about how fast you can get through your set or the weight number,
It’s about having control of the weight with good form.”
In regard to the lat pulldown I see people slamming the bar to their chest and getting back to the top of the movement as quickly as possible, this is not ideal and will have you short changing yourself on the benefits of the exercise.
Being able to control the weight and slow that negative, eccentric stretch is where the true gains are. Looking at my video I could’ve gone just a little further into that negative, allowing for an even deeper stretch under tension.

Back to working the 50lb weighted pulls.
My big goal is to get 5 of these smooth and controlled. I just started to get 2 and my first rep is so much smoother and controlled than ever before! Making progress, with consistency and patience I’m confident I can eventually get the 5 reps 🙌

65lb barbell bicep curl blowout to finish off our workout. We were focusing on keeping our elbows locked in and slowing the eccentric down for optimal bicep gains. I had some body swing action going on towards the end and I was having to dig…looking forward to getting stronger with this weight. Shannon had these pretty locked in🙌

At 42 years old I have more muscle and strength than I’ve ever had. It has built my confidence up and empowered me in numerous ways. Women are scared to get “bulky” or “too big of muscles “ out of fear of not being feminine…the fact that we are able to build muscle and that it is what of our best tools for our healthspan and longevity tells me the idea of it not being feminine is some served up societal bull-sh*t that I’m no longer buying into. This was my first time clean and pressing 75lbs and you can bet I’m going to go up! Shout out to my friend and training partner Shannon Burns of 🙌 I wouldn’t be here without you dude👊

Shout out to my training partner and friend Mr. Shannon Burns of .
We’ve been dialing up and honing in on our hybrid training routine. Today was 14 minutes of brutal but oh so satisfying HIIT. FYI, we brought back burpees 😁🫠🙌. I seriously couldn’t put in this kind of effort and intensity without him.

With a 200lb, good range of motion back squat as my current goal, I’m currently working with lower weight gaining strength through the deep range of motion.
I have 145lbs here trying to get deep with each rep. Going to keep at these as this depth and weight kicked my butt!

Bulgarian Split Squats are no joke.
Here I am in my last set with 70lbs, 10 reps each leg. 2 sets previously with 60lbs and 50lbs. Working on getting to 100lbs. That last set had my heart rate just below my max so I can confidently say I was worked! Listen to my breathing, this is the effort coupled with commitment and consistency that is going to build muscle, keep my bones and body strong as I transition into midlife.
LET’S DO THIS!!!
