💉 Aseptic Technique: Keeping Your Injections Safe & Clean 💉
If you use insulin or other injectable medications, it’s important to follow aseptic technique to reduce the risk of infection and keep your medication working properly.
Here are the key steps to remember:
1️⃣ Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and warm water.
2️⃣ Clean the injection site with an alcohol swab and let it air dry.
3️⃣ Inspect your medication (check expiration date, clarity, and correct dose).
4️⃣ Use a new, sterile needle & syringe every time.
5️⃣ Avoid touching the needle or letting it touch any surfaces.
6️⃣ Inject at the proper site (abdomen, thigh, hip, or arm depending on instructions).
7️⃣ Dispose of sharps safely in a proper sharps container.
