We hosted our annual junior high recruitment to round out the school year today!

7th & 8th graders watched a presentation on all the FFA events MU has during the year. They then had the opportunity to participate in mock CDEs! 🧀🥛🥩🌱

We hope this has sparked interest to join our chapter.

Chapter members spent the afternoon planting the plot!
Members had the opportunity to learn about new precision ag technology, learn about seed treatments, and even take turns planting! 🚜🌱

Friday, April 25th was our Awards Ceremony. We had a great evening recognizing all of our members’ outstanding achievements!

We have had the best Ag Day! 🤠

🍅 Students were able to learn about tomatoes and plant their own plant to take home!
🐣 Students learned how to properly care for chicks of different species.
🐝 Students learned what it takes to be a beekeeper!
📖 Studenrs got to hear an agricultural story from Garrett Memorial Public Library.
🍦 We made a yummy treat!
🚜 Students were taught how to safely behave around large machinery.
🐖 We had many animals for students to see and learn about!
💨 Students learned about wind energy and made their own windmill!
🏃🏻 Students participated in “barnyard games”.
🍔 Davis County Cattlemens cooked us a great lunch!

🌻Exciting news: we will be having a plant sale this spring!

🌸Pre-planted pots and individual plants will both be available for purchase in the shop.

🌷Members will be set up in the shop from 3:45-6:00 PM everyday next week (April 28-May 1) selling flowers!

We had a fun-filled two days of State Leadership Conference!
•
MONDAY
💙 We left school and arrived to ISU shortly before lunch. After getting checked in, members had the opportunity to explore the Career Show and visit with many vendors.
💛 Members attended the first general session where they were able to hear from the keynote speaker- the Iowa Dairy Farmer!
💙 Lily, Delaney, Porter, and Max competed in Ag Biotechnology. This contest involves a science id, knowledge test, and a practicum to modify a species. As a team, they received a bronze rating.
💛 Members attended the second general session where they were able to hear from Mike Naig.
💙 We ended the night with supper & ice cream at Hickory Park!

TUESDAY
💛 We started our day bright and early at Stephens Auditorium where Wyatt and Delaney competed in Greenhand Quiz. Both received a gold rating!
💙 Porter and Max served as voting delegates where they were able to vote on important business items and help elect the 2025-2026 State Officers.
💛 Miah competed in Chapter Quiz and received a gold rating!
💙 Sariah played in the State FFA Band!
💛 Miah received her State FFA Degree along with 926 other members. This is an achievement only 5% of Iowa members receive!
