On Thursday, some of our Plant Science students were able to go to Indian Hills in Centerville for a fun-filled and educational day!

🌱Neric Smith, ag instructor at Indian Hills, talked to the kids about the programs Indian Hills offers, and we walked through the greenhouse!

🧑🏼‍🌾While enjoying a delicious lunch, students were able to listen to a career panel of locals, talking about their career in ag and how they got there!

🚛Students were able to take a turn with the semi truck simulator!

🪱To round out the day, Jason Steele, the area NRCS Soil Scientist, taught the students how to judge soil and fill out a soil judging card!

Check out these 2 fun events we will be hosting at the Jamboree this year!!

🥕🌽We’re bringing back the Crop, flower, and vegetable show this year in the legion!

🏆🏅We’re hosting Ag Olympics Saturday afternoon, where teams of 2 can compete in ag-themed timed events! We will have 4 age divisions:
Lower elementary (PK-3rd)
Upper elementary (4th-6th)
High School (7th-12th)
Adults (18+)
