David Heubach Morgan was born to Richard Geer Morgan and Sally Adair Heubach Morgan April 24th, 1964 in Goldsboro, North Carolina. He was raised and spent most of his life in Mobile, Alabama. He was a graduate of University Military School in Mobile and excelled at soccer while a student at Millsaps College in Jackson, Mississippi.

After other career paths, he fell in love with working on cars. He approached his job with the utmost degree of integrity and cared deeply about his clients and coworkers. He was often known as the “dad” of the shop, giving advice to the younger technicians. This carried over to his care for college-aged clients. He would point to a photo of his own daughter on top of his tool chest and treat them as if they were his own child.

More important than his job was his role as a father. No one was a bigger cheerleader, supporter, or encourager of their child than David. Through countless camping and hiking trips, nights spent going over math homework, attending choir performances, and simply listening to every worry, question, and story, he was a gentle leader and strong foundation for his daughter. He gave her a spirit for adventure, compassion towards others, and a craving for knowledge. She will forever carry his wisdom and spirit, hoping to instill the same in her own children.

After moving to Florence to live with his daughter, son-in-law, and two grandchildren in October 2025, David was welcomed into heaven on the evening of Friday, April 17th, 2026.

David is preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, Jeffrey Wayne Martin.

He is survived by his daughter, Ciara Morgan Fittro (Robert Kingston Fittro) and grandsons, Kingston David Fittro (4) and Coleman Beck Fittro (1) of Florence. He also leaves behind his beloved siblings, Susan Morgan Martin of Marietta, Georgia; Paul Ernest Morgan (Kristi) of Mobile; and Andrew King Morgan (Wendy) of Lake Worth, Florida. His many nieces and nephews were grateful recipients of countless dad jokes: Katharine Martin Pfeiffer (Michael), Edward Banks Martin (Grace), Garner Adams Martin (Kayla), Claire Elizabeth Morgan, Heather Elizabeth Powell, Grantham Rhodes Morgan, Bennett Eugene Morgan, and Lillian Christine Morgan, as well as cousins and great-niece and great-nephews.

He will be remembered for his legacy as an incredible father, beloved grandfather, and a wonderful friend to many. Although he will be missed beyond measure, his family holds on to the comfort offered by our Savior that his body is healed and he is enjoying the company of the Lord. David bravely fought cancer for over two years before his death and was not afraid to die. His advice in the months before his death was to be sure to attend all advised cancer screenings and to get to know Jesus, the only one who can provide true rest and comfort in the darkest of times.

Private services will be held by the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Children’s Ministry fund at First United Methodist Church of Florence, 415 N Seminary St, Florence, Alabama 35630.

David was born on April 24th, 1964 and passed away on April 17th, 2026 at the age of 61

This obituary was beautifully written by the family:

Elizabeth "Lisa" Nell Skelton, age 54, passed away on March 27, 2026. Her family is heartbroken by her sudden passing, yet we find comfort in the hope of the Resurrection and the unshakable truth that Lisa belonged to the Lord. She is now at peace, running on streets of gold, fully restored in her new, eternal body in the presence of her Savior.

Lisa was a beloved daughter, a cherished mother, a dear sister, and a loving aunt. Proceeded in death by her brother-in-law Daryl Dorough, Aunt Alice Juanita Perry, Linda Joyce Green, and grandparents.

She is survived by her daughter, Annaliese, parents, Nell and Buddy Skelton; her sisters, Becky Dorough and Elaine Scott (husband, Joe Scott); and her treasured nieces and nephews, Makenzie, Kaleb, Kobe, and Quintin. She also leaves behind countless cousins, aunts, uncles, and extended family members who will hold her memory dear.
We choose to hold fast to the promises of Scripture, which remind us that even in our deepest grief, the Lord is near:

"Jesus said to her, ‘I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live.’" (John 11:25)

Though we mourn, we hold onto the hope of glory, where "He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away." (Revelation 21:4)

Lisa lived her life anchored in the truth of Romans 14:8: "For if we live, we live to the Lord, and if we die, we die to the Lord. So then, whether we live or whether we die, we are the Lord’s." As we process this time of great sorrow, we cling to the words of the Savior: "Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me." (John 14:1)

Elizabeth was born on January 30th, 1972 and passed away on March 27th, 2026 at the age of 54
