As many of you know, our community experienced a burst sprinkler line on October 16th that caused water damage to the main foyer, offices, and dining room. I want to take a moment to update you on our progress and next steps.
The initial clean-up and demolition, led by a ServPro restoration team, is expected to be completed by October 27th. They continue working diligently to ensure all affected areas are safe, dry, and prepared for reconstruction. Damaged ceilings, floors, insulation, and sheetrock have been removed in most areas and the remaining ceilings are being removed at this time. We are now preparing to move into the reconstruction phase, which includes securing contractors and ordering new flooring.
Please know that the comfort, safety, and well-being of our residents remain our highest priority. Temporary adjustments are in place to minimize any disruption to daily routines, and our team is fully committed to providing exceptional care and support throughout this process.
We truly appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to restore our community as quickly and smoothly as possible.
Please note the following important updates regarding visitor entrances and phone access as repairs continue.
●Alternate Entrances: Visitors should use the double doors at the left front patio (see next note) and the double doors at the rear patio near the employee entrance on the Assisted Living side.
●Front Entrances Temporarily Closed: The single door near The Harbor memory care unit and the double doors by the front patio are currently closed due to ceiling removal in those hallways.
The duration of this closure is currently unknown.
Visiting The Harbor: If you plan to visit The Harbor, please enter via the rear patio entrance. A team member will es**rt you to The Harbor’s back entrance.
Phone System Notice:
The phone system is working, but front desk staff cannot hear callers because of drying fans in the reception area.
After-hours calls are routed to the caregivers’ station and may be missed as caregivers are focused on providing resident care.
For the quickest response, please use your direct contact numbers for team members if available during this time.
We sincerely appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to restore the community. I will continue to provide updates as we make progress.
If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
Warm regards,
Keesha McKnight
