Hi friends! Long post but I promise it’s worth the read; some big, exciting news!

I started Attune because I saw a huge need for quality, patient centered physical therapy in our community. I saw that need and worked hard to step into the role of clinic owner, where I truly never saw my career going. I am proud of what I have learned and so proud of the people I have been able to help at this clinic.

While I have been able to help many people, I also see the hurdles that have been preventing me from helping some of those who have needed me most! I have had to turn away many due to insurance regulations, schedule conflicts as I juggled 2 jobs, new mom life, and more.

The bittersweet news is this; I will no longer be providing care at Attune… because I now (soon!) have the opportunity to provide you care through CHC in Pleasanton and Fort Scott!!

I am so incredibly excited to be able to truly focus on patient care in our community. (If you ever tried to call the clinic, you know admin duties were not my strong suit!! Wowza lol 😬) While I am sad to see this chapter come to a close, I know I will be able to help even more people with improved access, more consistent hours, and more resources.

Thank you all for your support these last couple of years. I’m excited to continue being your trusted neighborhood pelvic (and ortho!) PT. 🥰

🖤 Jess

I mean, yes, if you’re a jerk, you should apologize.

But hear me out. Soooo many of my female patients apologize for their bodies! (Can you guess how many male patients??? About 0)

“Sorry I didn’t shave my legs.”
“Sorry I didn’t paint my toenails.”
“Sorry I’m so sweaty.”
“Sorry my belly is squishy, you probably can’t even find my abs.”

I know the apologies are probably just to ease a little tension and deflect some nerves. But seriously, stop apologizing! Remember, our subconscious and our little ones listen to how we talk about and think about our bodies. Are you guilty of this?

If you have a broken ankle, I couldn’t care less if your legs are shaved or your toes are painted. Do I hope you’ve showered in the last 2 weeks? Sure. But please stop apologizing to your providers about your very normal body. And please start speaking kindly to and about your bodies 💜

Next time time this week you have a negative thought or comment about your body, try to stop that thought and instead thank your body for something it has accomplished. Notice how the perspective change makes you feel after a few days of consistency. ✌🏼

There’s more than one correct way to do almost every exercise! 🙌🏼

🍑🍑🍑 Love bridges, don’t love the way many people perform them. Your form and cues should depend on WHY you’re doing the exercise. Bridges are a great example of a popular exercise that could often be improved to work more specifically for your goals.

If you don’t know WHY you’re doing a bridge or how to improve it, get an in-person assessment from a PT to help you out! 👩🏼‍⚕️

(I apologize my captions weren’t working on this video!)

My intention was to share all the interesting facts about the effects of breastfeeding and hormones on ligament laxity and some considerations for pelvic health rehab…

I know I have read papers about this and I talk about them with patients but 🤷🏼‍♀️ reality is I can’t find them as I search on my laptop 1 handed (as I am currently breastfeeding my 4 week old 😂)

I’m sure there’s some great pelvic health accounts sharing these articles this week… I’ll leave it to them lol

A few things I have learned so far on my own breastfeeding journey
🖤 this 💩 ain’t for the weak
🖤 babies and bo***es are amazing
🖤 mad respect to anyone who has done this 1 time or 1000 times ❕❕❕

This is one random recognition week I can get behind. Breastfeeding so far has been challenging and rewarding and truly ✨ incredible✨ I hope you send the breastfeeding moms in your life some extra love (and maybe coffee) this week 🖤

I know you’ll forgive me for being a little absent on socials lately.

This is about all that’s been happening around here and I’m 100% okay with it. 🖤🖤🖤 Sooner or later I’ll get the motivation to get back to some educational content!

If you’ve messaged me I promise I’ll get back to you! As always, let me know if you have specific questions that I can help with. I hope you feel some love today, I know I’ll be soaking it up 🖤
