October is such a fun month—the weather SHOULD be getting cooler, football and fall sports are back, the crockpot comes out of storage, the leaves begin to change, pumpkins and mums are added to the front porch AND the annual Kansas 2025 Breastfeeding Conference is held! This year, the SHINE storks will be making an appearance at the conference—which is really like a big family reunion. 😊 So I need to come up with a giveaway… Starbucks, Swig, Chick-fil-a, Crumbl? What should we do?

I am forever grateful for the season of raising 3 little girls. Steve came home from cleaning out his desk and laid these on our counter. The fact that he knew those barrettes should come home to me makes me love him even more. I do not know who was more emotional between the two of us to find these barrettes. Steve learned quickly that I loved the girls to “match”, or at least coordinate when dressing them. He no doubt muddled his way through learning how to “do hair” when I happened to be gone or taking a vacation day from “stay at home mom” to go to work at the hospital every so often. Oh my goodness, I loved these years.

Thank you, God for this very sweet reminder of our little girls—and for everyone losing their baby girl’s hair ties, bows, and barrettes—I’m praying you find a few 20 years later too. 💕💗💕
