Please help us welcome Mrs. Tonya Shanahan, CRNP to our Moundville Wellness and Weight Loss team! We are so happy to have her!

With over 17 years of experience in primary care, Tonya has focused on managing chronic health conditions across the lifespan. In 2023, she earned a Certificate of Advanced Education in Obesity Medicine, which enables her to develop personalized, evidence-based plans to support patients in reaching their weight and wellness goals, whether it’s losing a few pounds to feel better or striving for significant weight loss for health reasons. She is passionate about serving the community and helping individuals achieve their optimal health.

Tonya lives in Northport with her husband, Tim. They have been married for 20 years and are blessed with four children and their spouses (her bonus children) and eight grandchildren. She and her husband are active in their church and community.
Outside of work, Tonya enjoys spending time at the baseball park cheering on her grandsons, taking beach trips in the summer, and trips to the mountains in the winter.

What she enjoys most about being a nurse practitioner is the privilege of building relationships, both with new patients and those she has known for years. Helping her patients reach their goals as they work toward better health and well-being.
